Need more missions now to keep this great game going.
They should have added an update for coop similar to ghost of tsushima. AC infinity was great with coop, which extended the games longevity.
Or put Replay viewer in Pause menu so you can enjoy Free Flight in Different Angles !

I'd been waiting for so long for *anyone* to make it, people teasing emblems and whatnot, and then I completely missed when you got around to it first despite the TCP backlog!
Has anyone done an A-4 Skyhawk mod?
It's kinda shocking how some aircraft have just gotten totally shafted by the AC franchise. AV-8/Harrier. A-4 Skyhawk.
I mean, when I saw in AC7 that you were going to a penal unit (which... was kinda silly, but also kinda interesting at the same time) and flying old aircraft and seeing the F-104 Starfighter of all things plastered everywhere, I thought "Hell yes! We'll get to fly in vintage airc-" And then there's MiG-29s and F-16s available right off the bat. Like... what? These are modern and capable aircraft that are still used in-universe. Hell the hell would a penal unit get access to flyable F-16s and F-15s? Even if the Scrap Queen COULD repair them from nothing, why let a PENAL UNIT continue using them over a regular squadron?
That's why I was kinda hoping that there would've been a bigger emphasis on vintage aircraft and upgrading them and eventually unlocking more advanced aircraft down the campaign. But while I was still in a penal unit I was already getting access to F-15s and earning a F-22 or YF-23...
Would've been really cool if there was a bigger emphasis on "old versus new" that was kinda hinted upon ever so little in the campaign (drones vs. manned aircraft, the opening cinematic with the Scrap Queen makes this clearer than the actual campaign does) and taking vintage aircraft and pushing them to extremes. I mean, you have an upgrade/modification system. Use the hell out of it. Take an F-4, allow that crazy tomboy to slap canards on it and some thrust vectoring engines so... I dunno... zip-tied to the airframe and let it do crazy wacky things.
The only available model mod at the moment is an F-15S/MTD. It's an herculean task.
And I understand the frustration, but I can't say it doesn't make sense. The Starfighter was always looked like a token thing to me, and Strangereal burns through so many aircraft I imagine they'd far more readily have access to spare or scrapped 4th gens than earlier stuff.
Would have loved your scenario, though - I'm an absolute sucker for deep modernizations.

Yes, the F-8 is another example. Which, given how popular it was in Area 88 in Japan, you'd think it would get more love in Ace Combat. I can't even recall a game where it appeared, even as an unflyable. I know the A-4 was an unflyable in AC2, but... That's about it I think.
Given the fact that Strangereal has made a space elevator well ahead of real civilization, it doesn't surprise me that 5th gen fighters are readily available
@@matchesburn Actually, the A-4 was one of the two starter flyable aircraft (other being F-4) in AC2. It had a solid teal paint job. Don't remember if it was under Normal or Extra; I think the MiG-21 was one of the starters, too.
I'm in favor of the "Gryphus" skin for the F-4E coming to AC7.
I think the Ace Combat series could show past events now, like the 1973 Rectan War.
I'm loving all these early war-themed mods, especially that AWWNB 1980 Eagle skin. Hope to see more of this.
Im so sad this game didnt get any more dlc missions. I want to play it but I already know every mission inside and out.
I've been using the Trigger variations of the F-4E Showtime skin, they're too dang good looking.

Good lord I wish that Project Aces just let you download these skins in-game like Fallout 4’s mod integration. The community makes such phenomenal skins and I wish that everyone had access to them.

I just realized, Maverick's F-14 has the number 114, and Blaze's F-14 has the number 116, so Maverick and Blaze might have flown together.
Thanks. I love to see this game getting some intention. I still play from time to time the Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception on my old PSP. That's where the nametag "Griphus" sticked to me through out my entire game experience.
Imagine in AC8 the final boss will be based on OUR flight data collected and be used against us.

Aircraft model replacements are exceedingly difficult, sadly - the only one we have so far is an F-15S/MTD.
