finally! said it on a previous video, the standard/premium pricing is priced into outer space so at $0.395/hr an instance this is very appropriately priced with it's feature set. thanks for the upload as always
Yes and no. Here is the doc learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/disk-encryption-overview#supported-operating-systems Windows 11 is not on the list however that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work, it means it isn’t supported. And it’s not supported because the teams have not finished validating it. All disks in Azure are encrypted by default The main benefit of ADE is to bit locker windows so someone can’t download your hard drives and walk away with them… Is that a REAL concern in your environment?
@@AzureAcademy Its not about the concern. Its a standard practice we follow while deploying AVD. I didn't see any issues with the window 10 OS for ADE Key Vault, however when we move for windows 11, we are seeing issues with the disk encryption.
Ok, thanks for letting me know…what issues are you seeing? Is it failing completely or is there an error message? Also have you opened a support ticket for it?
Perfect timing as always Dean! Would you know of we can downgrade from standard to basic? Also about reading the logs, I'm more used to Sophos where I can see the dropped connections would you have a video about troubleshooting a connectivity issue while using az firewall? Thanks so much for your hard work
There is a way to change SKUs I go into that in this video 👉 ua-cam.com/video/GrOz2Le9VZ0/v-deo.html I don't have a connectivity troubleshooting video...yet, stay tuned! 🤔
I am really disappointed that this simply provides alerts for malicious traffic instead of blocking it. How can this be sold as a firewall if it doesn’t actually block / prevent threats. Am I missing something? Azure Firewall Basic is similar to Firewall Standard, but has the following limitations: Supports Threat Intel alert mode only.
Remember that Basic is designed for the SMB customer who wants a firewall but at a lower price point. Which I think is 250+% less than standard. Network security in Azure goes like this At the bottom you have NSGs They are simple access control lists with no intelligence. The Basic Firewall adds Scale, central management and some intelligence. Standard Firewall adds more Scale and processing power along with other features Premium Firewall has all the top features and maximum performance So at the Basic level you have policy rules to allow and deny traffic, you can centrally manage the cloud from 1 place And you have access to the threats alerts Here is the link for what that does. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/firewall/threat-intel

You’re welcome Bill, thanks for watching and sharing these videos with others ☺️
Hi Dean, Azure Key Vault - Disk Encryption (ADE) is not supported for Windows 11 MultiSession OS ?

Great video as usual.
Thanks! What would you like to see next?
@@AzureAcademy Anything related to Microsoft Azure, since I am a big fan of the Microsoft Cloud Platform.
You got it…new videos every week here!

Waaaait a minute. Are you saying I can actually afford to play around with the basic one? :O
You're Welcome!
It's all fun until you see the pricing. 300€/month for Basic + Traffic is still too expensive. But nonetheless thanks for your videos again
Thanks for your feedback…BTW what do you think IS a good price per month for a firewall…???
