DIY MICROWAVE CRINKLED SKIRT

A new tutorial where Eugenia explains how to make a crinkled maxi skirt. To create this finish in the fabric she will be using a microwave, you can apply this technique to old shirts, handkerchiefs…The video explains the making and sewing of the skirt as well. It is very important to follow the fabric recommendations in order to achieve the desired look.

Is the crinkles permanent? Does it work with other materials such as polyester as well?

Hi Esther, the crinkles last for a pretty long time, but you need to roll the garment and keep it this way when you store it in the wardrobe. Same when washing up, you may need to roll and tie it to mantain the crinkes. Regarding the materials, polyester is good; I recommend to try first with a small piece of fabric and see the effect.

After that skirt dry. Do you want to say, Roll and keep it in Microwave? Dry skirt Or wet skirt?

Once the skirt is totally dried I recommend to keep it rolled in the wardrobe so you maintain the shape for longer. Likewise when you wash the skirt, you should roll it up and put it to dry for a few hours and then unroll to dry on flat surface 😍

Hi! Will this work with natural fibers such as 100% cotton or silk?
