The ending is like when an entire army attacks the main character but they go one at a time and each one goes down effortlessly
That's the first thing I thought of 😭
pretty much every Jackie Chan movie
That king must've gotten alot of exercise running across the battlefield killing rows upon rows of pawns just by himself
Ah yes, the Assassin's Creed Gambit. Bold play.
@@LegoAssassin098 The Yakuza gambit is a very interesting gambit
Black's ability to blunder 6 pawns in a pawn endgame is just fascinating
In a pawn end game where black is up by 5 points xD
Like 30 consecutive worst moves in that endgame has to be a record
I think the thing people don’t understand is that it’s just as hard to genuinely be one of the worst players in the world. Because if the bell curve there’s someone out there who is the top guys just like Magnus Carlson who is, due to cheeses popularity now, would be the worst chess player in history. It’s just as hard and just as impressive to watch. The moves make no sense. They see things non of us could ever see. Lines and variations unlike anything. Just that those are fundamentally shit. I’d still pay to watch it tho
@@clickthisforawsomnes idk what you're talking about

Reminded me of that Kenny Rogers song "Coward of the county". You could have heard a pin drop as the King locked the door.

I don't understand how you fuck that up
that ain't even blundering no more, that's straight up a felony 💀
Im in the 500 elo range, and I found this video incredibly helpful. The bishop pair mate in 2 was monumental fro my thinking, and the opening with the d pawn pushing on the knight were incredible. I also found the pawn pin very intriguing as it showed me how people at my level, including me blunder all the time. Thank you Levy.

As a 500 Elo, I can confirm it's a crazy world down there.
I'm 350 elo and I think that I just can't conceptualise the board very well. I also can't seem to keep more than 2 outcomes in my head at one time.
I still find it addictively fun though, despite losing most of my games 😅
I hope I come back to this comment in the future as an improved player.
You got this homeslice. Chess can be an extremely difficult game to get good at. Stay with it!

What’s your elo now? I’d be happy to play you and maybe give you some tips if I win (I am 400 elo) if you still need a push to break past 400
When I was learing chess with my brother we would regularly have to pause our games and take a few steps back because one of us had been in check for like 3-4 moves and neither of us noticed... do not underestimate the power of the newb.
Yeah, I remember I was playing a game w/ someone, don’t remember who, and after 3 moves I realized I was actually in checkmate, and we just didn’t notice the bishop covering the other piece lol.
When i was younger i didnt know that moving your king into a check was an illegal move, so i would for some reason do that all the time, or move a pinned piece. Maybe my reasoning was either, « i didnt know it was check » or « well you didnt have to take my king »
I used to play Chess like this: Pawn can only take directly forward and knights can’t go backwards or sideways so the games were like this: e4,e5,d4,d5, etc.

study endgame, no one will be surprised of a 500 elo hanging the queen, but there are certain pawn king positions where elo isn't an excuse to not win

This ending is like having a loaded gun, against a naked man 50 feet away from you, and then choosing to take out the bullets of your cartridge. And then, choosing to throw every single bullet at him, throwing the cartridge at him and then, after all that, throwing the gun at him as well whilst waiting for him to shoot you.
As a 500 i can confirm, this is how every single game goes here.
Lmfao
This analogy made my day
Lol, move your king with the pawns and it will never happen to you

And in the end, naked guy assembles the gun and shoots himself with it. Thats how this game felt.
At 8:55 I thought instantly the 500 would play Nc4 hanging the night to attack the queen, I’ve seen so many of these videos I now have the mind of both my elo and a 500, thanks levy
Throwing 6 pawns in the endgame is nothing short of surgical

I'm not a great player. Bishop H5 is the kind of move I'd do on oonga boonga instinct and then proceed to think "WTF I won?", and how white didn't manage to find it is beyond me.
What a chess game, the king thought his pieces were trash so he single handedly took everyone by his own hands
He won bc his king and pawn had plot armor
Yeah, dude was down 5 pieces but his king was literally "Fine, I'll do it myself" and went full Thanos on those pawns.
Why tf are these comments so funny?!🤣🤣
It's funny that all levels of chess are just as interesting to watch as eachother.
Absolutely love the little symbols, they help visualize what is useful when I'm trying to learn
"here's a golden rule of chess ok? when one of your rooks is hanging... what you should do is you should lose the other one for no freaking reason" 🤣🤣
Pretty sure the opening from White was truly a brilliant move.
You may laugh, but how more principled can you be? He thought to himself, “I need to move my pawn to defend the other pawn, but I should move my bishop out first so I don’t block it in.”
Truly deserving of the honorary GM title.
That first little facty fact about atoms was actually very comforting to a noob 😅
Yes, worry not. It is an understatement to say there are trillions of possible games worse than anything you've ever played 😂
Unfortunately its wrong. The number of ways to place 32 distinguishable objects on 64 squares is 64!/32!. Thats about 10^53 and the total number is almost certainly less than that. The number of atoms in 1 gram of something is around 10^23 and there are 10^27 grams in the earth which adds up to about 10^60 atoms in the earth alone. What im guessing he meant is that theres more possible chess games than atoms in the universe which is certainly correct.
It's even lower since you have to account for the indistinguishable rooks/bishops/knights and especially pawns
@@WaluigiisthekingASmith but... there can be less than 32 pieces as well on the board? wouldnt that make it so there'd be signifcantly more positions?
@@radio2955 So it would be the same calculation but with 31 distinguishable, 30 distinguishable, 29... and so on, but all of those are a lot smaller than for 32, so I think it wouldn't be that much bigger.
This was the most entertaining chess match I’ve ever seen by far

I haven't laughed this hard at such a masterpiece of an endgame like this game in such a long time
Best part of this vid is watching Levi's pure joy and amusement by the new emoji's
This is equivalent to being up 30 going into the 4th quarter and scoring like 10 points in the 4th quarter while the other team score like 45 to steal the game

K, the bomb at 6:30 was amazing. Please continue the fun effects and notations for moves
At the end black played fair! He gave chance to all his pawns to do something great. 🤣
I love watching your videos and every time i watch one of these specifically, if feel smart when i watch this and try as an 800-900 elo to find new moves and improve
14:20
Man I thought he was really about to say something important, but ..... 😂😂😂
That endgame technic by black was mindblowing. U won t find this in any book.
The instance in which the amount of chess positions would be if all moves (including illegal) would be counted, all real allowed positions are 1e^40 while all illegal move are 1e^110 ish
the amount of atoms in the universe is estimated around 1e^76 or something
Amazing how Mart was able to chew up 6 pawns with Accuracy, but couldn't see how many chances there was for the double bishop checkmate.
Chomping pawns that your opponent serves to you on a platter is more 500-friendly territory than a bishop checkmate.
This was poetry. Moving all at once with everything bluring together and then deafening stillness. Beautiful
This is precisely how I would play. You are looking ahead, but when you barely know the rules - like me - you just react to what's happening on the board and thinking maybe one move ahead, if even that.
The evaluation bar had a seizure after every move.
The emotes are a nice touch and you seem to be having fun😂

That golden rule line was hilarious.
His king was LITERALLY his most active piece and captured more than any other
I like the little stickers on the board, makes the video a little more visually interesting
I don't even play chess casually, and watching that black king stand completely open, mate-in-two from those two bishops with white refusing to end the game, was actively painful for me.
Firstly, i am in 500 elo. For some reason, these people are more ridiculous than in my chess games
that's because all/most errors are shown here :)
It is because you probably don't see these things in games. I used to watch my classmate over his shoulder when he played in class and gave him a hint if he could do a fork or something. But if I played against him I would always loose.
18:36 my jaw literally dropped like NO WAY ON GOD GREEN EARTH , like noooooo wayyyyyyy
I never encounter opponents like this.

Levy is legitimately more focused when he's distracting himself with the emotes. I say keep em, 100%
I’m a 500 myself and after watching this I don’t feel as bad about my own lack of skill.
Tbf you aren't rated higher than them, so you essentially have even odds when playing against these guys
I can't imagine anyone who remotely understands chess being rated 500 for very long if this is an accurate representation of the level they're up against
@@sietsejohannes i dont believe the endgame frankly. Im 700. Blunders certainly happen. Many and little distance between. But shit like that doesnt happen by accident. I think what happened. Was he pushed the h pawn, lost it. Went oh woops. fuck it heres my pieces
@@sietsejohannes I started 2 weeks ago on an account I dipped elo on a long time ago, pushed from 300s to 600 now and trust me it's not that easy, people around here have no plan or strategy at all and chase checks like animals, sadly striking a forced mate sometimes but usually end up playing their queen 7 moved in a row then resign as they blunder on move 8. 70% Cheaters are extremely common too since the Wired video opened the eyes of many wanabe chess masters, they don't chest every move yet they cheat most of them. Escape the 600s !!!!
@@yousofelhalfawy6839 I don't count people who aimlessly chase with their queen among those who remotely understand chess. I still encountered them at the 1000 level, but when you watch a channel like Levy's and follow his advice you should quickly be able to beat them. Around 1200-1300 is when people start playing a little bit more solidly and it becomes more about building experience, learning different openings and finding tactics.
That endgame was essentially the plot of John wick. Just one badass dude killin EVERYONE 😂😂
That king gobbled up a queen , a bishop, and 4 pawns... That's 9+3+4=16 points of material.. That's like the king going on battle alone against 16 pawns and winning
I actually quite like the double exclamation point for low elo games. I chuckled as soon as I saw you put it on the bishop move in the beginning
Edit: and I just saw the bomb. Yeah I like it. These things are cute
That's a perfect comeback. White's definitely a GM in disguise
It's much harder to blunder all your pawns than to get a beautiful queen

But even I wouldn't have left a king that wide open
The emotes are so funny. 7:20 “ The king dies” ☠️

Little grammar lesson: since the word "Fianchetto" is an italian word, and being an italian myself, I just wanted to let everybody know that instead of saying: "Fianchettoing" as Levy said, you can say "Fianchettando" which is the correct gerund for the word "Fianchetto" in italian. (the phrase will be like: "Fianchettando the Bishop...". At least say: "Fianchetting". It just sounds better) Hope this is of some help :)
