Praise The Lord. I finally found a traditional COG online. I have been out of the US for 21 years, and we do not have a COG where I live in the Philippines. It is a blessing to hear the old hymns again. I was raised in the COG in Jackson, Michigan. The church was the center of our lives at all ages, from youth camp to camp meetings. While I searched for a church, all I could find were churches with contemporary Christian music, even for alter calls.
Thank you for uploading these Church of God heritage hymns. I love them, I grew up singing these hymns in church. I miss singing them so much because most of the modern worship leaders are not singing them anymore . The messages in these hymns are so profound.
I’m going on 5:00 I will praise him, hallelujah 11:50 I’m redeemed 16:45 What a mighty God we serve 19:20 A Child of God 20:45 There is joy in the Lord 32:10
Real Church of God congregations STILL SING these songs as so beautifully sung here--and they live their message. There song-sermons define who and what we are in Christ Jesus, and those who no longer use them but instead have turned aside to Hillsong and the fluff of written-for-profit compositions that are merely fluff and frothy performances to man`s applause have betrayed the precious and inspired heritage with which we have been entrusted. Our youth must learn, live, and pass on this priceless heritage!
Hi Paul, I have some beautiful CD recordings of the old-time Church of God songs. I'd be glad to send you some if you'd like. You can contact me by email: hsorrell@windstream.net. I live in Myrtle, MO
Amen! The church of God hymns stopped being sung in most churches bc they don’t believe the message that DS Warner, HM Riggle, BE Warren, and others preached. Most Christians that go to COG don’t even know what Babylon is in scripture
@@jodyfinney6389 My father was ordained by F. G. Smith (neighboring pastor) and Dale Oldham and was a friend of C. E. Brown and R. Byrum (to both of whom he introduced me much later at their homes). My mom as a teenaged girl visited in the home of C. W. Naylor (whom I regard as our foremost theologian), and E. E. Byrum was known to my parents and prayed in my grandmother's home. I myself cherish many dozen letters from my very dear friend Elsie Egermeier, and I introduced my father to her at her home (also another dear, saintly author, Verna Joiner). The movement decades ago began its downward slide (about the same time period as terms like "the Rev. Dr." began to be used). :(
@@paulinmiami7671 I was raised in a Church of God environment. My paternal grandmother was the sister of F. G. Smith and the whole family supported the movement there in Grand Junction, Michigan as the movement was young. True commitment was their watchword and these songs bring back many memories. And that really seems to be missed by Christians today.
We attended FCOG St Louis, Mo for over 2o years raised our family there. After moving we were members of The Christian Church. How I miss the old CHOG songs.
Absolutely wonderful praise God for this great musical feast to be able to listen to the doctrines of this glorious church of God the pillar and ground of the truth. God bless you.
It is so nice to be able to lisson to all true C.O.G.Hymns due to all the restrictions for lenghts of time being able to spend at Church, all thanks to GOD.
"Thou Shalt Be First" is one of the most beautiful of our great heritage hymns and very sadly is practically unknown. It makes a wonderful choral presentation when "sung in the Spirit"!
We are forgetting our heritage hymns of the FCOG...where is our spirit we sing like were dead...give it some spirit...bring out like you mean it.. Come on I can remember when we got happy and showed we meant what we sing.
I feel what you are saying some of these songs are sung so quickly one doesn’t even have time to envelop the words and appreciate what you’re singing.... when we sing the churches Jubilee the saints can not stop praising the Lord and embracing each other where it says we reach our hand and fellowship to every blood washed one so many of these songs have such a message that when they are done in the spirit
There Are Many Churches Calling Themselves The Church Of God That People Don't Know Which Church Of God Movement Is Being Spoken About? I Think You Need To List The Headquarters Of The Church Of God This Video Is Showing So People Will Know Which Church Of God Movement That Is Being Shown So It Will Stop Any Confusion It Maybe Bringing To Any People Who Are Watching This Video? Hope This Helps In Posting Other Videos Later !!!!!!!!
Not too long ago the leaders in Anderson saw fit to change the worship style to one of modern contemporary music from the traditional as in this video. This move dismayed me. It reminded me about a theme back in the 1950s one year: You Cannot Serve God And Mammon. Since many of the older COG leaders have passed on like Dr Robert Reardon, it seems like the leadership in Anderson has become more liberal wanting to appeal to the world instead of changing the world. This makes me sad.
Please pray for Jason Pierce. We had to call the police on him and as far as I know right now he's in prison hospital here he was drunk and Roy acting up and has an alcohol problem. Please just pray for him. Peter AKA Wally
Growing up in Guyana ,pastor smith and others ,brings back memories with these hymns thanks to my aunt for leading me to God and his goodness
