Same, you probably got unlucky or in the wrong season going there, I went there in the wrong seas and got sunny and rainy days.

Well it does rain unpredictably, but thankfully it's not bad. If you are at the beach with an umbrella just before the rain, (wind before rainfall) this might happen but the wind it usually not strong enough to fly a person even with umbrella.

The Maldives rarely has these storms when I went there. I stayed for 10 days and there was only 1 slightly rainy day, even though that only lasted for an hour. It’s such a beautiful place!
