You have explained the gift of tongues so clearly! Anyone who really wants truth could see that, too many people don't want truth, they are full of religious pride and will not admit that they've been deceived. Thank you!
True! They will never admit that they are deceived. A smoker never gets smoke sell, because they are in it.

God continues to gift missionaries with tongues learning local language in no time and preaching the gos.pel of Jesus . The Frontier Adventists and in the beginning of the Adventist work in the Philippines, American missionaries spoke the language in a matter of weeks.

Please do a follow up. And thank you. So many of my Sunday keeping SINCERE Christian friends believe in speaking in tongues this way. And my own spirit has always told me it’s not right. Bothers me terribly to hear it. I want so much to be able to discuss this peacefully and lovingly with them, but wasn’t sure how. Prayerfully maybe I can share this video with them.

The entire concept of speaking in tongues is to edify (teach) others the gospel. In a nut shell, someone is blessed with ability to understand and speak in a language that is not their native language, that they may minster in that language to those that only understand that language.

Powerful message, Amen all Glory to our Heavenly Father.
Tongues speaking, understanding, and interpretation are gifts of the Holy Spirit. - Acts 2:4, Mark 16:17, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11.
This means that the Holy Spirit can give giftings to some to only speak and neither understand nor interpret. Some can understand, and interpret but cannot speak. Others can also speak, understand and interpret all according to His will. Hebrews 2:4.
Tongues Speaking is a form of a language that can be ‘known’ (natural) or ‘Unknown’ (Supernatural).
There are 2 types of Tongues speaking:
A. Edifying the church or Ministering. - 1 Corinthians 14:2.
B. Edifying yourself (Praying in the Spirit) i.e., speaking mysteries to God, not praying with your mind. -1 Corinthians 14:2, Jude 1:20.
There are many scenarios in the bible where these types occurred. - Acts 2: 1-47 (Ministering), Acts 10:44-46 (Self Edification), Acts 19:6 (Self Edification).
In 1 Corinthians 14:1-39. Paul threw more light on the types of tongues-speaking, 'which', 'how', and 'when' to use them when ministering to the church or body of Christ with emphasis on the need to rather prophesy. However, he made it clear that speaking in tongues is effective in ministering only when interpreted. He also laid down instructions or rules to ensure proper delivery and orderliness when ministering.
There are many excesses or counterfeits but we will not misinterpret, blaspheme or condemn the giftings of the Holy Spirit. Let us continue to concentrate on the Truth, and it shall set everybody free.

I just thought of the left behind movie by Tim lahay in this movie when Kurt Cameron and Ben Judah go to meet with the 2 witnesses,the 2 witnesses are speaking in benjuda's language, and then Kurt Cameron is hearing them in English. Then benjuda tells Kurt what the 2 witnesses are saying , then Kurt Cameron says I know I know they're speaking in my language.

Some times if you don't know the subject, Speaking in tongues it's best not doing the subject, then mess with it, or not understand it, God put the bible message to bless the church, as paul said, I speak with tongues more than you all, Paul wasn't boasting, he knew the value of speaking in tongues,
It's funny how people say " speak in tongue," speaking in tongues should be done by the Holy Spirit, not voluntarily...
@Jana elana in 1cor 14: 2 he said those who speak in tongues don't speak to men but to God' beause man does not understand him, He that's speaks in tongues for he speaks mysteries, it is a prayer language, paul wrote that, so if he didn't speak in tongue paul than why did he paul know so much about tongues, plus paul said i speak in tongues more than you all, , Did paul lie? @@blessedwithoutmeasur you're right. It does say that. Part 2 of this message explains that text. An in depth study of the text itself reveals the true meaning of the text. Not just the first 5 verses, the entire chapter. It's beautiful really.
@Alyssa Allen He paul rote one whole chapter then a chapter on the gifts of the Spirit which are still being used today. The Holy Spirit speaks mysteries when you pray in tongues , its more of a prayer language, God understands and the Holy Spirit is working, when you or I speak in tongues

By the grace of God I never got caught up in the Pentecostal way of worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ although I attended a Pentecostal Church a few times. I wanted to hear the sermon but could not because of all of the people speaking in tongues and losing control of their faculties. And why is it that they only preach getting baptized in the holy Spirit and not the word of God? I have a friend that's called up real bad and speaking in tongues and don't worry for her. While I'm no biblical scholar it seems to me that the charismatic church is teaching a different gospel and it's just another wolf in sheep's clothing

This is just a quick reminder about using the correct words. The Bible is clear about not lying. When you carelessly use the wrong words, you can find that you are actually lying. Your title indicates that the Bible speaks. This is incorrect. The Bible is an inanimate object and thus can not speak. The correct thing is to use "teaches." A book can teach but not speak. Thanks

Do not be misled! Praying in tongues is REAL! Its tested by the verse he tried to sweep under the rug! 1 Corinthians 14:2 states For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. This is a prayer language between man and God it doesn't need interpretation from man it's to be understood by God only. That's why is says Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. I pray in tongues all the time and its not "babbling" I'm doing I feel filled with the Holy Spirit and feel a connection with God in doing so. Also its never repetitive when I pray in tongues it flows like a river from my tongue til I run out of breathe and I can't make this stuff up! It's Gods way of letting you pray from the spirit because sometimes you don't know what you need to be praying for but praying in tongues helps you pray for what you didn't know you needed to pray for. Also When preachers do it its only for a few seconds because they feel an overcome by the Holy Spirit in that moment and it doesn't need an interpreter because its not part of the sermon thats between the pastor and God. Now your right about some preachers saying the same thing and that is babble but not all preachers babble I've actually seen pastors like Touré Roberts speak in real tongues when they feel the Holy Spirit.

In the model prayer … Luke 11:1 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
Jesus didn't teach them to babble.
We must remember that the gift of tongues was given as a sign not to those who are believers, but to those who believe not. (1 Corinthians 14:22) In every example given in scripture where someone spoke in tongues (Acts 2, Acts 10, Acts 19) you will notice that there is always someone of a different dialect present...meaning non-hebrew. The gift of tongues was given for the purpose of communicating the gospel and the good works of God where there was a language barrier. (Acts 2:11) There is no example in the Bible of tongues spoken within a group in which all present spoke the same language. Why? Because there is no need for God to supernaturally use someone to speak a different language if everyone present speaks the same language. Remember, God is not the author of confusion. (1 Corinthians 14:33) You are right...the gift of tongues is not obsolete, and it is not the means by which we gain salvation; however, we must make sure that what we are practicing is of the true Spirit of God and not of a different spirit. (1 John 4:1) We must also make sure that what we are practicing is in harmony with God's word.

And if there were real languages today carried out the way Paul expressed, that would be closer yo truth for us to also discern.

The other contradiction with the "Interpreter" as taught by pentacostalism is that the interpreter fills almost like the role of a Prophet and the Bible says that no Prophesy of Scripture is of PRIVATE interpretation 2 Peter 1:20

Just use common sense, why do they have to speak a language that other people don't understand right? so they should use a clear and understandable language like the most popular language 'English' so that more people can understand. That's why if they want to walk in the spirit if they are hungry for the word of God they need to study the word of God and research the true Gospel.
