      Yes, and they just don't get it. I think they have entitlement issues, perhaps a splash of mental illness. They are combative, to the wrong person. It boggles the mind that people behave like this because most of us wouldn't dream of behaving like that in court. Or anywhere. My ex-husband was that personality type, very abusive. He began to get in trouble with drugs and I was the one with the money. So I was always paying bail and hiring attorneys. Then he would show up to court and behave worse than some of these people. He would cuss out the judge and give them the riot act. I would say to him, why are you doing this!? I couldn't understand it. But it's just his personality type whether he's high or not. I do think it is some type of mental illness that they have where they have no impulse control. They are not able to control themselves or say no to drugs or whatever. Perhaps it's entitlement.??

    I'm torn when it comes to the death penalty. While the death penalty can be appropriate for some and closure for most of the victim's families when we consider the saying "eye for an eye" I almost feel like having someone rot in prison for the rest of their lives without the possibility of parole would be more damaging and torturous for the offender? Would love to hear everyone's thoughts/view points?

      Costs too much tax payer money to keep criminal in jail for a lifetime. Death penalty is a powerful deterrent for others. I fully support the death penalty for violent criminals whose evidence against them is clear beyond doubt.

    • @uncledoctor6920
      @uncledoctor6920 Рік тому +1

      The argument against the death penalty comes mainly from citizens not wanting the government to have the power to legally kill a citizen, citing that it's a slippery slope that erodes the sanctity of life and civil liberties, which I agree with.
      That and that there doesn't seem to be much of a point considering how many inmates have been on death row for many years, some being there as long as a non-death sentence judgement would've been.
      And of course, for many convicted criminals, spending forever in jail is a fate worse than death, and a more poetic and deserving punishment than the release of death would provide. Take Darrel Brookes for instance; Being a total narcissist who only values control, he now has to spend 700 years and six consecutive life sentences not even being allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission.
      I think the solution is along the lines of what we have now where prisoners earn their keep by working in prison, simultaneously paying for their food and care while also having some of their earnings go towards restitution. It needs close monitoring though.

    • @alfredthegreat9543

      Too many times innocent people have been found guilty for the death penalty to be a valid punishment. The death penalty should not exist because the death of 1 innocent renders it as an abhorrent act.
