It won’t be nearly as fast, but I get far superior results (based on microscopic analysis) with my finished compost from the Johnson-Su compost method. More initial upfront work and materials, but once it’s built, it’s basically a leave it and forget it method (particularly if you have an automated water drip system on it to maintain moisture) with no need to constantly be turning the pile. Additionally, the longer decomposition process ensures that you are producing more fungal dominant or balanced compost than the bacterial dominant product that fast, thermophilic piles produce.
rodents are most interested in grains and animal products (meat, bone); they also like potatoes. Just don't put these things in your compost pile. Note also that rats or anything will not get into a pile that is 130-160 F. I have been composting for years and have no rodent problems are all.
I love this! Simply said and easy to understand
Amazing
👍
Does this need to be done outside or can I do it in doors? The real question behind it is - can I use this kind of compost to heat my 365 greenhouse?
yes, lots of people do that
How do you do this in the winter? I have a compost pile in Wisconsin.
I need glasses. I only clicked because I thought it said "How to Make Compost Feast"

Awesome. How do you keep rodents out?
