To be perfectly honest, the dress he presented to the court, I wouldn't pay $5 for if I found it in my local Goodwill. I can understand she wanted it to look like the $10,000 dress in the picture and she only gave $500 for it, so obviously its not going to look EXACTLY the same, but come on. He was in school, it was prom season and he had too many dress orders and not enough time to fulfill them.

O.K, If I was the plaintiff, I WOULD NOT have waited a week or two before prom to get a custom made dress. If I wanted a custom made dress, get it two-three months prior to prom. As for the defendant, If you know that you can't get the dress done in time, then don't go for it!! The dress had potential, but it didn't come through. I do feel bad because she had to buy a dress a day of prom, that's added stress to an already stressful day and plus more money!!!!!

I can understand that there is a HUGE difference between a dress that is $10,000 and a dress that is only $500. The $10,000 gown is going to be infinitely superior because the higher price tag allows for higher quality fabric, detail, etc. That being said, I don't think this guy had a clue what he was doing when he agreed to make this dress for the plaintiff's daughter. If you are making a dress from scratch, it takes time. You can't just throw it together in 5 seconds and expect it to be a perfect dress. There has to be fittings, there has to be adjustments and you certainly can't wait till a few days before the dress is meant to be worn....much less the NIGHT BEFORE the prom, and the dress is still in pieces and the girl hasn't even tried it on yet, and expect it to be a perfect reflection of what she wanted. And the fact that he considers himself a professional and yet there was no record of a final price for the dress and all he could do was make excuses that his machine was broken and other girls had already paid so they were the priority instead of the plaintiff whose dress was not finished and she had to sit there walking him through how to make her dress the night before her prom speaks volumes regarding his incompetence and lack of ability to fulfill his contract. I think the judge was right....he was in school, it was prom season and he had way too many dresses to make and he got overwhelmed....and the plaintiff's daughter paid the price for his incompetence.
@@TheDeldiz EXACTLY. I would bet $500 that the mothers of the other girls he was asked to make dresses for ALSO sued him because their daughters either didn't get a dress from him or their dress wasn't what they paid for. And how COULD the clients have "paid him in full" if the machines were broken and he says he can only quote them a price ONCE THE DRESS IS FINISHED?
Even tho he was in the wrong I like how at the end they both said respectful things and didn't try to make personal disrespectful remarks to either side. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Maturity at its best
The dude was cold the way he was dressed and his style....he don't look like a diva . just a well dressed man. I hate how it turned out..but at least the young lady was able to get her another nice dress that was well put together.

See the problem with that is that there is no proper documentation on the agreed price there for according to the plaintiff the deposit was paid in full but according to him it was half, exactly why it is so important to keep all your paper work in check
If the dress was $450, and the deposit was half of the total cost, shouldn't the deposit cost have been $225? Cheap material though...her store bought dressed looked very nice!

Come to think of it, how could he work on those "priority" clients' orders if his machines weren't working?
@@TheDeldiz EXACTLY. I would bet $500 that the mothers of the other girls he was asked to make dresses for ALSO sued him because their daughters either didn't get a dress from him or their dress wasn't what they paid for. And how COULD the clients have "paid him in full" if the machines were broken and he says he can only quote them a price ONCE THE DRESS IS FINISHED?
His damn hair..... nevermind. I can't..
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
It looked so fried and damaged. Lilac pubes
I always love the advice the Judge gives to the people before her and in this instance I admire that the defendant took this as a learning experience.
He did her a favor the dress she brought was 10x better
Why spend so much money for one night, I got married in a $60 prom dress from Macy’s, and we’re still together happily after 10 years.
Antisocialist Because she wants to
That was 10 years ago...
I did the same thing! If you know how to search online you can really find a good bargain that's a good quality.
You right, money doesn’t buy happiness. But THIS IS THE LIFE WE LIVE IN. SO MANY PEOPLE WITG DIFFERENT DIFFERENT VIBES
Antisocialist thank you
Even tho he was in the wrong I like how at the end they both said respectful things and didn't try to make personal disrespectful remarks to either side. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Maturity at its best
Last minute dress is GORGEOUS. SERIOUSLY. Yasssssss! I need pics of prom night!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
His brand is great, but that dress he made looked like it came from wish.
Judge faith: let me see the samples you have up here
Defendant: these are my simples
Why he sitting up there looking like he’s gonna win 🤦🏾♀️
Don't like his posture.... Judge Judy and Judge Toler would've ask him to stand proper
He LOOKS like a diva!!!!!
Colleen Hardesty did you see the girl behind him tho she was throwing mad shade in his direction
He deff is he is trying to hide it for court
The dude was cold the way he was dressed and his style....he don't look like a diva . just a well dressed man.
I hate how it turned out..but at least the young lady was able to get her another nice dress that was well put together.
He dropped the ball. He knew what he had done. Save face and return the money!
He should’ve just returned the money from the beginning. Now he has to pay an extra $500 because he couldn’t admit he dropped the ball.
The Judge gave him some valuable gold nuggets.
This was a lesson bought for him. I hope he has since learned from it. He has great potential and talent.
yesss judge Faith you better werk it in them heels

Have great show keep Rick and God bless make me smile 😊🤩🌻❣️
They paid half of the “deposit” . The judge couldn’t understand that. Half of the deposit was paid. Not the full deposit
Stygian Girl Right
See the problem with that is that there is no proper documentation on the agreed price there for according to the plaintiff the deposit was paid in full but according to him it was half, exactly why it is so important to keep all your paper work in check
If the dress was $450, and the deposit was half of the total cost, shouldn't the deposit cost have been $225? Cheap material though...her store bought dressed looked very nice!
Exactly! They did NOT pay half of the total amount. So according to the contract he really did not have to even start cutting out the dress.
Stygian Girl yes she did
judge faith those heels r high be safe
He needs more training, that dress looks homemade. She actually dodged a bullet. The dress she purchased was gorgeous.
Voiceover Guy: " If you or someone you know have a dispute, don't take law into your own hands, let Judge Faith do it for you"

Judge Faith rocked those heels. I'm a woman and I want legs like hers or Serena. Just saw this today. When Judge Faith was airing, I was working and very seldom saw the show. So now I'm binging...lol.
