@@timexlessgaming8448 no there was an interview back then with the driver and even Volvo mentioned it later when asked that they will introduce such features in the future. Please stop spreading fn
Yes, in a really tight emergency stop, it will tear the little plastic splitter from under the main 'bumper'. I did one last week. It's a really brilliant system, first flashing a warning, and then stopping one from running into those darling retards who pull in front and then brake to start a turn-off, but chicken out before actually leaving the road.
I would like to see this test again but then with multiple cars to stress test the emergency break system. Because traffic exists out of multiple cars behaving unexpectedly.
I used to work for a parcel delivery express company back in 2014/2015 and there was a contracted driver who swore buy volvo I remember when the new FH13? (please correct me if I'm wrong) came out in 2014 he was all over them like a pig in s**t even gave me a tour of his units and a ride, I also like volvo trucks and cars and the saftey systems on these vehicles are astonishing
What about on ice and snow? A car cuts you off and the truck applies the brakes it’s self too hard and the trailer kicks out to on coming traffic, will the truck sense the trailer now has become a danger? Will it stop braking? It’s nice that these tests were done in ideal conditions.
They can use this in supercars in Cruise mode. Volvo is the best. Other truck companies don't concentrate on safety mostly like your hand signal; hand waving to the driver means to stop till I pass right? But keep up the good work. Volvo is the best.
Can it compensate for if the road is wet. Pretty sure braking like that in the wet isn't going to end well. Awesome brake performance though. Is this Volvos own system or a third parties? Or aren't you at liberty to say.. ? :)
Emergency braking calls for a deceleration of 8 m/s2. If this value is achieved or not depends on several factors such as roadsurface, tyres, weather conditions as well as brake performance on the total combination. It is activated when a collision is barely avoidable by steering or braking. In good conditions a collision can be avoided, otherwise mitigated.
Hello James, thank you for your question. If the driver notices that the system is not performing as expected, it can easily be turned off. I hope this answers your question.
Thanks God I’m able to block that nonsense system, otherwise my load will be destroyed by stupid four wheeler drivers. That collision system is extremely dangerous, and should be immediately disabled by Volvo manufacturers.
Wow this truck has better safety features than luxury cars
Of course, Volvo is the leader in safety
Your safety technology saved a child! You are great.
It didn’t, back then there was no pedestrian detection

Volvo=Safety.....I hope one day every truck will feature safety systems like this.....
Yes
They pretty much do
Volvo on some serious safety i like it.
Hot damn, did that lower lip actually scrape the road? Makes me wish all trucks driving around were Volvos.

JessieHilary Mitchell Both the truck and trailer have abs brakes. It won't look the brakes.

thenkes for vidéo 💪
The most safety. 😌
Thanks
What is the max speed of the truck for automatic brake ?
There is no max speed limit. But the emergency braking is activated above 15 km/h.
Can the trailer have the same effect even when it is full?
Volvo❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It works great. Volvo did a great job!
شكرا VOLVO
Prime mover was only a single axle while trailer was triple axle.
Meaning that trailer wouldn't have been fully loaded - if loaded at all.
I know this is a stupid question but is it possible to get one of those in the USA ?

And what if this activates on a false positive? Also potentially unbelievably dangerous.

the volvo driver is safe, but the driver behind the volvo is not so lucky
im now 15 years old and when I become a lorry driver do I have to do anything with this technology in 5 years ;)
