- "Sonic Violence" best describes the chaos that was captured on the final day of ArcTanGent Festival 2023. The Yohkai tent was packed beyond its borders, as the 5 men known as Frontierer-who just beforehand were in extensive stretching poses, patting and hugging each other, and all around being calm and sweet-took the stage. What happened next was a glorious, raw, childlike cacophony expressed at maximum volume. Their passion showed no boundary, blending the rhythmic complexity of Meshuggah with the antics of The Dillinger Escape Plan, plus the pulses of what sounded like extraterrestrial gunfire. Captured at the expense of a guerilla film team made up of 2 operators, several smartphones and a GoPro taped to the stage scaffolding, it felt like a fitting way to bring this insane performance to you via the Audiotree Worldwide channel.

FRONTIERER is widely known for their unrelenting, uncompromising brand of sonic punishment, their brand of metal fusing mathcore cacophony with downtuned bludgeoning tones for a progressive metal sound layered with electronics.
Originally a two-person bedroom project created by Scottish guitarist and primary songwriter Pedram Valiani and American vocalist Chad Kapper, the band has since grown to become a fully-fledged touring machine with bassist Calum Craig, guitarist Dan Stevenson, and drummer Luke Coursey fleshing out the current lineup.
After their debut live performance at UK Tech Metal Festival 2016, FRONTIERER was listed in Rolling Stone Magazine’s Best Metal Albums twice with two subsequent albums in 2016 and 2018 reaching #14 and #17 respectively.
Additionally, the band has made their mark alongside heavyweights in their genre such as Converge and The Dillinger Escape Plan with critical acclaim from Bandcamp Daily's article A History Of Mathcore, citing FRONTIERER as a, "venomous brand of future-punk well worth exploring."

Thank you so much for all of your hard work. And thank you to everyone who turned up to our set and shows this year. It’s been an incredible year. Roll on album 4.
We love you, Audiotree! ❤️
And they're such sweethearts too! I hate watching live recordings so I'm not gonna watch this, but you guys are the epitome of a feel and I'm all for it.
We love you right back
Legends of the game
This set was FUCKING mental. I absolutely booked it from a hefty mosh at Conjurer to leap immediately in
I cannot wait for album 4 and for you guys to tour USA/Canada.
Thanks for capturing, we had a blast playing this show!
Traveled from Chicago to Bristol just for this - was 100% worth it!
Same!
@@AustinPeters small world! hopefully our paths cross someday!
God I need these guys to come do a US tour one day
It's honestly shocking they haven't done one yet
@@idiot_city5244 might just be too expensive for them at the moment, but hopefully one day
Lots of factors have prevented it so far, but it will happen.
Can’t wait for that day
@@bootypopper420 that’s exactly why we haven’t 👍
Only some will understand this. BUT this band playing a east coast US show especially if it was 10 years ago it would of had the most violent mosh of any band. They have the heaviest breakdowns of any band ever.
East Coast. Massachusetts especially goes fucking hard in the pit.

Audiotree ya'll are the GOAT for giving us a Frontierer live set. Let's go!
Frontierer is so absurdly good. What a great recording
DAMN I LOVE the live version of Tunnel Jumper way more then the studio!!!! That was fucking sick.
❤️
Freaking baddest band in the game rn.
Frontierer, Car Bomb are keeping mathcore alive
I really like how they all stand apart from each other though as well, all bring something different
When you guys come to the US I am going to be the happiest man in the country
I watched this live, hungover with a coffee. Was a lovely way to start the day.
Doing that right now
Hell yeah. Don’t need a coffee with these riffs
TIL 9 out of 10 doctors recommend smoking a pack of Frontierers. Keep up the good work boys.
"the rhythmic complexity of Meshuggah with the antics of The Dillinger Escape Plan, plus the pulses of what sounded like extraterrestrial gunfire" is exactly correct.
The fact that these guys can pull this shit off effectively in a live setting is leagues above their contemporaries.
THE BOYS! This is incredible to see
We need these guys at Outbreak fest, I feel like the mosh would be insane
Still more to announce... pls let them be included
Never thought I'd see Frontierer on here!
Unreal seeing well recorded live show from these giants!
Well recorded?
@@sahinlandman4667 sound quality, they don't have live shows recorded with good sound quality
@@Maniahg Yeah and this one is bad as well
@@sahinlandman4667 it's better than their previous ones lol
starting w corrosive wash is emotionally irresponsible and frankly im here for it
Was hoping to see a truss climb, got one less than 5 minutes in 😎 hope to see y’all stateside sometime! Keep killin’ it!
I’m a little late to the party, but wow this performance was amazing. So clean. Frontierer can play their stuff really good!! Hope they come to the southwestern U.S. in the future. I would go nuts seeing them live 😂😂
Absolutely incredible!! The energy that comes of this stage is staggering.🤘🏻❤️
I love this band. These guys are monster musicians and they dare to break that sonic frontier. (of course)
Loved this show! ATG is killing it.
Someone please bring them to the States. 🥲
Absolutely sick… Thanks for posting this!
YESSSS. Such a great band
Nice. Reminds me of The Chariot
First I've heard them and it was my first thought. I didn't get into the chariot until the band was already broken up so I'm excited to find a new band that compares.
@@NAlbert2008 I really hope you’ve seen the video of The Chariot performing at Plan B in Russia. To this day, I have not seen a crowd close to that insane and it would be the greatest to see that crowd reaction for Frontierer.
oh yes here we go
The absolute bois
Wow, never thought I would see a show from these guys posted on this channel and I so stoked that you did! Fucking incredible!
It was an amazing set. Melted my face off and destroyed my ears
This was so fucking good. Immensely glad I decided to just dump a whole water bottle over my head on the jog over instead of actually pausing to recover from the Conjurer pit
You love to see it
Hell yeah
So fucking sick
hell yeah nastyy
Absolute bonkers of a band
WORKING AGAINST WHAT ROBS US OF OUR METAL
YEEEESSSSSS 🫰💞🫰💞🫰💞🫰💞

Couldn't get a mix straight from the board...?
yeah, this sounds fucking awful
@@brooksrocco it sadly does
i'm just happy we got video of a full set
Issues at the board unfortunately prevented it. Didn’t know until afterwards
@@WehlerDealer oh definitely I'm happy for sure, just wish the audio quality was as good as the video
