You have really accomplished a lot. Glad you also had Rob to help you out. Sounds like you had a good Holiday Season. Now back to work. Thanks for the update. 😊🤗 Kathy
Thanks James VERY interesting stuff, and actually your series of "The boat that James built" will serve as a REFERENCE LIBRARY for other boat builders.
I’m just sitting on the back porch in Mississippi watching you and thinking about the Caribbean islands 🤣. We’re waiting for a snow, sleet, and rain storm. And I believe the sleet is coming first!
On a Thursday? But it's the day for Heidi the Pirate narrowboat.... Well, I suppose I'll be able to watch two awesome narrowboat shows today. Thanks, and all the best in the new year for the both of you.
I think you missed your true calling to be an electrician, while most of that went over my head its obvious that you know what you are doing and the pride you are taking it keeping it all professional and tidy is a credit to you. Happy New Year to you and yours.
As I can just about connect a plug I'm amazed and curious as to how you have so much knowledge on electrical circuitry. It looks pretty complicated to me. That said, I've watched all your videos from day one and have thoroughly enjoyed every one.
Can't beat a bit of blue. It looks like you have enough room to fit a Lynx Power In off the distributor and then do the fuse mod. You then gain 4 more fused connection points😊
@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt the Lynx Power In looks the same as the Distributor but without the fuses. It's just a busbar that looks identical but can be made into a Distributor by buying some bolts and nuts
James, all that level mounting could have been done with flat washers just as well & faster. I don't see them batteries making enough turn to come out on either side when need to. However, I do find your electric supply coming along well @ avery large cost. Regardless of boat or camper power is normally the most expensive. But it's also the brain of making it all work for or needs. Keep cracking on. Post longer. Dennis USA 🇺🇸 N.C. 😎.
Hi James just a quicky double check the instructions for your victron mppt as they always used to say not to use wiring ferrules on them they may have changed but worth checking.
The instructions do say to use ferrules - would you suggest just tightening the cable end into the terminal - that’s an option too - not sure which is better
@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt the early ones had a flat plate in the connector block this flattered the cable making a good connection if there isn't a plate then a ferrule would be better
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt There is a sail-away wide beam for sale which is in the dry part of the Bridgewater canal breech. Don't know anything about it except what TaylorsAboarANarrowboat have said; the owner may think of all the trouble getting it out of there and be selling it cheaper than most. Watch their breech video's and take a look if you are seriously interested.
I understood that. The face of comprehension -> 😵💫
I understood EVEN more whenever you said “power” 😂👏🏼
The advances in your knowledge and skillbase since your early days on youtube are huge. You have come a long way James.
That’s true thanks - it’s also reflected in the step up onboard
The world needs more friends like Rob ! What a good guy he is to you James ! X
Indeed he is.

Well done James and Rob is a goid friend blessings to you all tc the oldies 👍👍

That’s kind of you to say - thanks
Great install James. I think you done a great tidy job. Thanks for explaining it along the way. I found it very interesting. Great work
Thanks my friend
James you are really making some great progress. It’s really looking like a narrow boat.
Crikey! A lot of thought required there - Well done!

A very happy New Year to you and your family ❤ xxx
You too !!
Good job James!
Hi James, great to see this, you've done what i did with all my Victron kit - all works very well!
@@robtheplod that’s good to know - it’s some investment !!

Love your work.. 👌

Thanks - I enjoy this type of wiring but it’s quite straight forward really
quite the skill set there, i would be lost
I’d be lost too without UA-cam and hundreds of others who I’ve just watched and copied basically - but I do get the jist of how and why it all works

Very kind of you to say - it’s all quite straight forward once you understand the relationship between things. Victron do all the hard work
It's coming on sir james. Happy new year. 🎉
Nice neat job James , Your getting their mate . Dave Cook
Cheers geez
Hope to see you soon

My bank balance would disagree with you - blue is the way forward. I think I’ll make do with just the one Lynx
Also I believe the Lynx power in ONLY works with Victron batteries and I’d have needed a million raffles to buy them 😂

The issue I had was anything was just going into 9mm ply mostly / so I opted for chunky
You still gonna have batteries issues when time to come out & they need air cool flow James.

great see vlog out on channel keep up the great vlog on channel thanks for share
One step closer. Soon you will be occupieing the boat full time.
Or selling it for a widebeam
Oh a wide beam…..the dream !!
Trade up. You never know until you try.

First a demolition man, then an architect, followed by a carpenter.
After that you turned into a plumber and now an electrician.
What next?
Sailor?
That’s the job of a narrowboater - got to be all those things to some degree.
I think the CRT would like me to be more a sailor than anything else 😂
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt 🤣🤣
Great video i personally would of used fire retardent boads mounting the victron
I know they can get a bit warm but I’d seriously be worried about them warming up the ply leave alone combusting it!! Bolts and braces I guess
👍👌❤️🇨🇦
love it, but don't you need a haircut??? ( LOL )
I had a small trim over Xmas - there is someone close to me who likes the hair !!
Kind of confusing, but kind of well done!
You get a new phone for christmas mate or is the camera just clearer because the lights work? 😂
I cleaned the lens - nah I think it’s better lighting - I have a light ring now which is class
