Yeah , I always felt Robert E. Howard threw in the descriptive horror better than any others. I liked the start where Conan hides in the swamp just to get revenge on the leader who tortured and killed his men, and the end had the horror element of the creatures that attacked the pirates , plus the Bigfoot like creature he fights. Great ending too where he takes control of the ship saying he will slay them as they try to climb aboard or sink the ship until they agree he's the new leader. He should have been anyway since he defeated their leader.

I remembered this story in a Marvel Comics of Conan many years ago. It gave me the creeps.
