Thank you so much!!!! My chains have been sitting on the floor in front of my passenger seat for a few months now because no one ever showed me how to hang them. I'm finally gonna try to hang them and get my passenger side freed back up. I'm looking forward to a neater-looking truck interior lol
My kinda trucker! I am at our terminal in Cheyenne right now, Oct. 2021, and just lay out a new chain on the ground before realizing I have forgotten how to hang a chain! Thank you, brother. This old Georgia girl needs this.

@@addiedaniel3619 Its individual choice....depends how bad you want to keep going.....do you want the miles bad enough to have the experience of chaining up?? Ive chained up several times.. its not a big deal... I wont chain up every day....but i dont mind once in a while...
Hey sometimes regardless if you want to or not you might be in a situation you have to. Like going up the icy mountain and then traffic comes to a stand still. No chain up requirements but now you've just lost any traction you had and cant get rolling again without sliding backwards.
Thank you for the idea, my rack is on the passenger side behind the fuel tank, I did exactly as you said but they were too long they were dragging on the floor so I did one link the whole way and it looks good thank you.
@@ryanlevron1972 I took advantage that I had them off and I sprayed them down with WD-40 because they started rusting a little so you helped me in every way and form thank you once again.
Man, thank you so much! I have my chains in bags in my storage compartments, and I'm so sick of them being in the way. Now I have an idea how to hang those bad boys up on the rack where they belong!

You would think that anyone with tube style mount would automatically think of this . I have a bunch of drops left over from fabrication projects our company says they can't figure out how to mount our chains on our day cabs ...LoL...they are clearly desk jockeys because they only know about big boxes not a simple tube mounted frame side between fuel tank and splash guard so they have all 3 sets of chains piled up under the passenger seat which is like a big hole ...LoL... during a snow storm you'd have be standing on the top step reach into this seat hole pull out loose chains piled together that weigh 60lbs a set and with hands full either try and climb down to the ground or toss the chains to ground them after they're al covered in shit climb back up on top step and dump the salty mag chloride covered mess back into the cab under the seats ... lol....they declined the rear cab mounted boxes due to "not looking safe" but this alternative seemed like a winner . Anyway I'm Going to weld a section of 1inch .120 wall tube to a plate and on that make a cup to hold the top of the frame rail and either bend up a couple sections of all thread and use those to fasten it to the rail or clamp it like the apu ... Problem solved with scrap drop steal . Then they can go buy premade for the rest of the trucks .

I googled, chain racks for semi trucks... then looked thru pictures untill i found what I wanted.... There is one company in Oregon that sells those chain racks to individuals... I cant remember the name now... The aero mudflaps came from Iowa 80 truck stop
Chains hanger and apu units are so important for trucks and would say a mandatory thinks and do not understand why trucks are not coming from factory ready with this This is not an option of having a beauty bumper or some chrome stuff, this is vital
Its not necessary to be mandatory For a couple reasons 1. There are some companies who are based in the south east, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida..... those states literally never need chains.... 2. There are owner operators, like i used to be.....but live east of I 25.... and refuse to use chains....for those drivers, chains are pointless...so no chain rack necessary.... The chains are for company drivers who work for companies that go all over, even in the Rocky mountains in the core of winter.. not all companies go in the Rockies ...not all driver go in the Rockies

@@navaro20 An APU, Auxiliary Power Unit.. is a great system to have.....the only reason a lot of companies dont use them....is because it is an extra engine, extra maintenance cost.... plus, mechanics have to be certified on small engine repair... so, generally, when you have mechanical issues with an apu....it has to go to an apu dealership.... Heres a great example Company i drive for, Crete Carrier...has their own shops with certified diesel mechanics..... so Crete is able to buy parts from dealerships at a fraction of normal costs.... and pay their mechanics a few dollars per hour less than a dealership would pay.... With an apu... simply because its a small engine.....has to go to a small engine repair shop.....apu dealership.....which is an outside vendor....boom....cost of parts and labor on an extra engine just doubled Not to mention.....even more down time for the truck and the driver... because you have to wait your turn in line...and most apu dealerships, fix reefer trailers first..... Now.... what most large companies are doing...such as Crete Carrier... they install a Auto-Start system in the trucks with esbar bunk system What happens....the driver can use the bunk system... for air and heat,,, as well as utilizing their appliances.....as long as the Auto Start system is turned on When the batteries get too low on voltage....auto start kicks in. And starts the truck...... once the battery voltage gets back up...auto start kicks in...and shuts the engine off Therefore.....saving money on small engine repair....saving time from waiting for the apu dealership to get you in.... and protecting the atmosphere all at the same time
Great video, but IT DOES NOT WORK FOR SUPER SINGLES. I have 1 rack on the driver side, near the catwalk (Freight Shaker) and it has 3 hangers. For super singles, I'm forced to use 2 hangers per chain so they won't drag the ground. But at least they'll look neat for the DOT. Lol. Thanks again for the helpful video though.

Those chains are too heavy to jump.....
However i would suggest buying some type of lock

That is a good question and I do not have an answer for that..... I have never dealt with those.
However I am sure there is a video out for it...
