So glad to find a Ryker review from a tall dude. All the motovloggers are great but they're all like 5'6". This review also told me far more than any other review. Thanks!
I rode the 900 the other day, I'm in no way a CanAm guy, I own an Indian Chief and a Goldwing, but I was very impressed. If I had the moolah I'd consider buying one. Crazy how cheap they are. I am tall as well, 6'4", and it was comfy.
I have had a Can-am Spyder RTS for about two years now and my one complaint is how hard it is to work on it. This looks awesome, so easy to access everything. Literally takes 3-4 hours just to change a headlight on the RTS cause you have to remove so many stupid body panels to get to it.
Being that your so small you might want to look into the Fox suspension so you don't grind the heel of your shoe off on every bump.Every-time you sat on the bike it looked like you bent it a little. ;) All kidding aside this is a great machine and I have enough saved for the 600 in cash with the accessories I can not do without but am going to save a few more pennies for the 900.The only thing I don't get with the 900 is the small amount of Horse Power & Torque it puts out being a Rotax 3 cylinder ? I have a friend with an older Speed Triple that puts out all you need to get out of it with 3 cylinders but I'm okay with that because I do not see it being to long before Trask realizes they are going to sell a bunch of these and they come out with a clutch & Turbo kit for em... Great post. Thanks man!!!
Erik, did you have any trouble being able to extend your legs out to a comfortable position and also hitting the brake? I'm a bigger guy and 5'11. I had trouble on the Spyder with being able to reach the brake pedal position. I'm hoping the Ryker will solve that. I want to be able to extend my legs out like a Harley.
@@bettysmith4527 Not necessarily, it's not enclosed, single occupant, open-wheeled with a comparatively small displacement motor. all in all, classifying these as 4 wheeled motorcycles or better yet an Urban Mobility Vehicle might not be that tough
Nice review. I do see a flaw and it's with the brakes. I think they should also have a brake lever on the right handle bar just like on a motorcycle/scooter. It would be linked to all 3-wheels just like the foot brake. Suppose you are riding down the road and your right foot slips off and because you're moving forward your foot hits the ground pulls back and snaps. Ouch! I know. But now you don't have use of your brake foot and no way to stop. Well, you should hit the kill switch but that will only kill the engine so you will still be moving forward at a high rate of speed. And at even 25mph hour that would still be one hell of a crash!
No it does not as of yet and it's been said that the tool is about $125.00 bucks to get one. Also if you get a flat your screwed even if you had the tool on the side of the road that's why I'm going to fill my shit up with Slime and pay the extra few dollars for full coverage insurance.... ;)
Overkill and not needed.Can-Am is going to sell a ton of these and I'd be amazed if someone does not put out a turbo or supercharger for these real soon.... ;)
If you could afford to get one of these and enjoy it out of the box for a while when developing a reliable electric configuration with the same range power and output of a ZERO 14+ configuration and keep a low center of gravity without an excessive amount of weight from the battery pack needed based on the extra weight of the RYKER compared to the ZERO then try to make it fit presents more fun.I see no way that would not have to be a compromise as to output to keep it in the restraint of the initial configuration of what makes this machine worthy of a great roadster having 3 wheels that you sit in and not on unlike its horrible big brother the (SPIDER) that made my sphincter tense just looking at a turn going more then 5mph over the posted speed limit when a motorcycle could safely proceed at twice the posted limit with no drama at all.I could be mistaken but I thought one time I noticed a warning for the SPIDER that this will only end badly in fine print at the bottom of the sign... LMFAO ;)
This a great idea, i have a 2015 Harley RGS, ALL custom bagger, yeah so what i dont like riding it the rain, i dont mind ridding in the but not my 15, but this 3 wheeler I would definitely enjoy riding this in the rain, where I live it rains three four times a week it sucks , that's a bike out now I'll be looking for
