Food technology has wonderful opportunities (especially in terms of self employment) if done from a top institution.
NIFTEM (Thanjavur) is one among the best in the country, also pursuing it at a Central/ State Government Agriculture/ Veterinary/ Fisheries University (TNAU, TANUVAS and TNJFU in Tamil Nadu) has good opportunities, pursuing it at an ICAR accredited institution will be an added advantage.

Kanniya devi Devi For BSc microbiology you have scope but salary will be less so you should do MSc , but my advice microbiology is not advisable to girls pharmaceutical industry is preferring only less amount of girls comparing with boys, my advice girls can take pure chemistry, organic chemistry or B.pharmacy
