My first reaction to Eric andre as a host would be him doing the hosting normally but when it gets to final jeopardy he pulls out a gun and aims it at people yelling "WHOS READY TO DIE!" Over and over. Idk why

Just had a genius idea: After they find a permanent host they have a "Previous hosts" tournament where they have all of the previous hosts come back and compete against each other. The twist is, all of the answers are questions that one of the hosts asked when they were host. So it's basically a competition to see which host remembers the most answers

Jeopardy is nothing like Countdown or 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (rip sean lock) but more in line with something like Pointless as in it's a trivia show where they changed one small quirk of it to make it "unique". In jeopardy's case it's that the show provides the answers and the contestants have to work out the questions

Just hopping on your comment to mention that Sean Lock gave a shout out to a local London charity in one of his last videos. Literally the only reason I know the format of Jeopardy is because I had to research what the hell the end of Yakko’s World had to do with anything I’d just saw. Like, man, I’m just watching funny cartoons, I don’t wanna have to look into dumb gimmicky quiz shows
"8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown" is actually just a crossover of 2 different shows. "8 out of 10 Cats" which is a statistics comedy panel show, and "Countdown" which is a math and spelling quiz show.
but 8 out of 10 cats and countdown are both individually rather boring. the combination is one of the best things to ever happen to television

Hollywood always does this. They miss the real reasons why movies are popular/successful so they basically milk a gimmick to death until the next sleeper hit. Remember the 3D era after Avatar came out and how unnecessary it was most of the time?

The stuff about Erin always being right really bothered me after binging your podcast recently. As someone with a weird name, the fact that she seems adamant that she gets to decide how a name should be pronounced (in this case mario) bothers me. Like idk if its different in America, but generally here we pronounce names as the person with the name does or wishes it to be.

@@declankennedy4379 In reference to pirating, as in, watching/downloading media you'd ordinarily have to pay for. A VPN theoretically makes that less risky. So while they can't exactly advertise that their service can help you pirate things, the name seems to be a subtle nod to that.
Note: Jacks comparison of Jeapordy to 8 Out of 10 is a bit off. Countdown is the game show where they spell words and do maths sums for money, the 8 Out of 10 Cats does countdown is a comedy show (8 Out of 10 cats) doing the show, and tends to be a joke around the whole thing. Idk why

9:27 I read somewhere that, on some game show, when the long time host had left (maybe Price is Right with Bob Barker), there was a new official host. No one liked the show anymore, possibly because of the new host, but most probably because they missed the old host and wanted to complain. They were then replaced (if Price is Right, by Drew Carrey) because of the poor reviews, but by then, the show had mostly recovered from the transition. The newer host was able to take over smoothly because no one had gotten attached to the middle guy, and the middle guy was cemented as the scapegoat for the bad season of the show.
I think that's what this commenter meant by "save the Price is Right".
