Trail riding in Maine where i live is awesome and far from boring. The trails go right behind my house and i can go all over for hundreds of miles ,through thick woods, fields, lakes, ponds, swamps, bridges over scenic brooks/rivers, pipelines, pole lines, scenic mountains and hills, i love going out and seeing the world through the trails. I even snowmobile to places in the winter that i usually drive to in the summer.
yea it wears down a couple of parts on the snowmobile but they are cheap replaceable parts that is part of normal maintenance with these things going acrossed pavement or riding on dirt just forces you to change the parts sooner (carbides, and Hifax)
How are you able to pull the skis up on the tnt? Clutched or anything like that? I am not able to do that with mine.. Just thought i would look for some tips
Nice video, any recommendations on clutching in general? i have a 1987 arctic cat eltigre 440 L/C and i can get it too cat walk off of snow drifts, but i want too be able to pull the skis up from a takeoff with my gearing. Thanks!!
if your watching this video just to see the race then go to 6 minutes and 30 seconds thats where the race starts sorry the camera wasnt pointed up more
@RevTheory12 so your saying with more weight and having the engine sit farther forward to put more weight down on the ski's to help with friction is going to give you more top end? and idk about you but when i ride with my mom she isnt racing at 100mph
Whats the difference between the tnt and the trail? I have a 08 500ss trail and I absolutely love it. Just never really understood what the difference was.
@tisselur100 yea i know snowmobiling sucks in southwest michigan but theres nothing else to do around here in the winter i would love to go snowmobiling up a mountain or something
@XBLSmackithTheDown im not sure about the insurance purposes but i do know the 597cc motor has the hp rating to put it in the 500 class it wasnt aloud to be considered a 600, skidoo and all the modification companys have had good success with this 597cc motor for the past 20 years that they decided to keep it
@cbeck611 its easy on the lake to hold it open and go in a straight line....and with the way the revs clutches are set up compared to the xp's. ive raced plenty of 600 doos both xp's and revs and the results are always the same
Yea It was the best handling snowmobile I ever driven. The reason my handling wasn't as good in all of the videos I shot was because I loosened my limiter strap a lot so I could pull the ski's better without having to bounce down on the back which in return destroys your handling. And one of my ski's was slightly bent from a friend hitting a tree that i never ended up fixing. The whole right side A-Arm or whatever they call them was bent so the balance was out of whack.
@Wellyaabuddyy why would i lie the only thing it has is v force reeds and a can thats it lol this videos just shows how much weight makes a difference his sled is like 60 pounds heavier than mine which is alot for something of that size and he weighs about 30 more pounds then i do and the xp chassis is much better all around
@cbeck611 I've got a 2007 mxz rev 500ss with a sno-stuff can and it cant even come near my buddies old STOCK 2002 mxz 800.. (I think its a 2002) And i weigh about 50 pounds less than he does and im sure the revs weigh less than the generation before them.
these guys are mostly riding on pavement or dirt..... and the guy who has the tnt has never rode before because he never let off that throttle.. te guy with the rev also let off and actually knew what he was doin..
@cbeck611 totally wrong. The rev chassis sleds are built for a better top speed than the xp. the xp is better off the line, but the rev will take the xp in top end. i have an 06 mxz 500ss and my mother has a 2010 mxz 600 (same engine) and even though mine in 4 years older, i creep away from her on the top end...
losen straps move block to lowest position so the rear supension can go as far down to the grownd as possable and get studs u wont be able to kepp the skis down lol
where was the verses part? i assume you were on the 800 and what the fuck is a "rev" 800. as far as i know "rev" was the chassis of which there were 3 or 4 versions.
yea he let off the throttle after half a mile, thats how long it took him to catch me the race starts at 6:43 you can see my skis come up when the race starts and you can also see how it takes him to catch me. after he let off the gas i kept going for the fun of it, people like you see that and say he let off the throttle you can see it come race my rusty piece of crap ill beat you
This is exactly why I don't ride trails anymore. 1) it is just boring, 2) the trail conditions always suck, and then you get these dumbasses just destroying the corners because they think it is a race when on the trails.

Wow...$3.18 a gallon in 2011, when we were oil dependent. Can't wait for those days again in 2021.
Love the tnt 500ss well i loved all the 500ss my sled is an 05 mxz 500ss
Awesome sound from 6:43 to around 7:20! Sweet sled, I love the TNT 500ss.
What's done to your 500ss? I just bought a 2012 600 sport not sure if it's gonna be quick enough stock
yea it wears down a couple of parts on the snowmobile but they are cheap replaceable parts that is part of normal maintenance with these things going acrossed pavement or riding on dirt just forces you to change the parts sooner (carbides, and Hifax)

Wheelie Machine’. Got that set up to definitely hook !
you from around niles? i see you filled up and took off from coquillards. I live in edwardsburg.. lot of the trails run threw our fields
@ivince it has a dyno port can but other then that it is stock
if your watching this video just to see the race then go to 6 minutes and 30 seconds thats where the race starts sorry the camera wasnt pointed up more

Oh alright i see. I really wanna get into snowmobiling. :)
what trail were u guys on??? ive be to tht gas station once or twice before????
Whats the difference between the tnt and the trail? I have a 08 500ss trail and I absolutely love it. Just never really understood what the difference was.

Is this in michigan???? looks like i have been there if so
What kind of clutch do you have on that doo seems to pull a front up pretty good even at high speed
@RumfordSledhead when im on flat grounds i hold it wide open if i want to hold a long wheelie
@bulldog190 500ss is something like a 597cc they call it a 500 for cheaper insurance purposes.
Both of those sleds are beautiful trail sleds.....they ride so smooth
Are you guys up and ColeBrooke? Because I recognize those trails
hey how easy is it to wheelie the 500ss? i have an 04 and also how wide do you hold the throttle when you do this?
He’s got it wide ope and it’s all suspension adjustment in the rear
@cbeck611 its easy on the lake to hold it open and go in a straight line....and with the way the revs clutches are set up compared to the xp's. ive raced plenty of 600 doos both xp's and revs and the results are always the same
about how fast does your TNT go? i cant see the speedometer on my screen.
how do u have ur straps n blocs set to lift the skis so easily??
where is the gas station at? it looks like ive seen it before
can you even turn that thing in the woods.? gotta keep the ski's on the ground to go fast corner to corner.
Yea It was the best handling snowmobile I ever driven. 800s and 600s really arent that far apart speed wise.... Just spending more to go 10-20mph faster, in my opinion.
What is the top speed of this beast?
wehats ur exhaust and clutch and track set up
@tmx864 yea i live right on barron lake like 1 mile from that gas station
Are the knee pads worth buying them
the 500ss is the 600 carb right?
Looks pretty warm better check the wear rods and hyfax when you get home
how fast did you get up to on that wot run?
probably only about 100 or 105
@Wellyaabuddyy the xp chassis makes a huge difference all around for speed and handling my tnt is a completely different sled than yours
Pretty low snow conditions :-(
I miss farmers fields. Nice and wide open with no trees around. Almost idiot proof. Best we got up north is old railroad lines and roads.
is the new one the 500ss
if you ride hard or hit jumps they come in handy i deffanantly reccomend them
Nice Ride guys.
Why would u drive a snowmobile when theirs barley any snow on the ground
how fast can you drive?
In colebrooke?
@Wellyaabuddyy why would i lie the only thing it has is v force reeds and a can thats it lol this videos just shows how much weight makes a difference his sled is like 60 pounds heavier than mine which is alot for something of that size and he weighs about 30 more pounds then i do and the xp chassis is much better all around
i got a 600 etech and i take lots of guys with the big 800s, and the 500ss run pretty tight too buddy of mine gots one.
great rip love the video
@cbeck611 I've got a 2007 mxz rev 500ss with a sno-stuff can and it cant even come near my buddies old STOCK 2002 mxz 800.. (I think its a 2002) And i weigh about 50 pounds less than he does and im sure the revs weigh less than the generation before them.

you ar good in snowmobiling
I hit 113 on a stock 2005 skidoo 500ss mxz. Across a huge lake in New Hampshire my buddys mxz800ho did like 118-120mph
Wow thats fast. The fastest i ever went was on my dads 800 on our mile long lake i hit like 115
@cbeck611 totally wrong. The 500ss has a 600cc moter
597cc
+eversick i thought it was a 593?
LOOL 7:23 hes like ..... wtf. "let off a little early???"
@6305GM southwest michigan
The ski lift is all in a soft suspension
Not true
where was the verses part? i assume you were on the 800 and what the fuck is a "rev" 800. as far as i know "rev" was the chassis of which there were 3 or 4 versions.
I've hit 105 on my 2002 mxz 500.

@cbeck611 Thanks for replying back so fast and LET IT SNOW!!!!!!
Its greasy going wrong way on a one way trail dude
try and catch me riding snirty
Your sleds far from stock if it can beat an 800 like that!
This is exactly why I don't ride trails anymore. 1) it is just boring, 2) the trail conditions always suck, and then you get these dumbasses just destroying the corners because they think it is a race when on the trails.
