The big injury in 2010 seemingly was a turning point - I think he had the beating of Lorenzo that year - compounded by the switch to Ducati which just didn’t come together. Shame he didn’t get it in 2015 - when Marquez turned kingmaker for Lorenzo - as would have been a fitting swan song, but still the greatest that ever did it.

Rossi on the otherhand made you think he had a shot at the title every year except his last one. That's remarkable for a 20 year career on motorcycles.

Ducati ends up losing anyways. Be it improved or not improved. I have been keeping the track of these Ducati hypes since 2017 and since then they haven't even won a single Race. Marc, Fabio and Rins are there to embarrass the lame Ducatis like they always do since the start of MOTOGP.
