new updates: - updated cobra to play more like human at lower speeds yet make bigger spoike - updated icly to play more like bot with consistent stacking
this is going to be a full review so lmao. it took a while before i was very sure it was a bot; the piece placement timing is pretty regular, and it does the speed up/slow down thing zzztoj does too, which was pretty telling. the build at 0:35 was when i was sure enough to be like ok bot. this bot is more fun to watch than zzztoj, and not just because of the finesse although that's cool. i think the main reason is that you can see the logic behind the placements (eg "this is obviously forecasting some t spins in the downstack" or "it's too greedy to go for a tspin, so the bot is playing safe and skimming/dsing". on the other hand, zzztoj is kind of opaque, and it just pulls downstacks out of hats. since you wanted better human simulation for finesse, the thing that stood out to me the most, that cobra is doing (that humans don't), is soft dropping before dasing the piece. this is probably more efficient when it does it, but for humans it's too big brain to actually look for, when you can just use muscle memory to move the piece to the column you want it and use your brain for more important things like timing and stacking lol.
@@lettuce1626 that may be so, but etheryn were just stating when they were sure of cobra being a bot. Although I already know it's a bot so I'm biased, the entire first game already looks too unhinged and RNG-filled to be a human confidently stacking with style. Just looks like something you do when you already have knowledge of many more pieces ahead, which only a bot can access and use. Actually, I am curious about Cobra's Garbage travel time knowledge since it seems like it incorrectly judged the wrong timing when trying to Z spin instead of choosing the safe option of S-skim Quad. Does look like a human fault huh?
@@ski3r3n how fast is your soft drop cause usually most people's is pretty fast and if you soft drop first, it'll be hard to get to the sides some times
Garbage holes will always be the same across both players. Eg, if icly recieves a spike in the 4th column at the start of the game, the first garbage hole that cobra receives will be in the 4th column also. The first garbage hole for icly will match the first garbage hole for cobra so on so forth
@@johnbarnes7485 Advanced tricks and techniques used to control garbage exchanges in order to gain an advantage over opponent. A simple example could be to set up big attacks and wait to tank the opponent's clean garb then send everything at once into a 20-30 spike sth. Beginners don't have the requisite skills for stacking to even think about garbage exchanges, so don't think about it too much. And sometimes it hardly matters to up your Macro anyway.
@@johnbarnes7485more specific explanation is cancel incoming garbage when you're high up, tank clean garbage for resources(more ds=more attack), and tank garbage so opponent can't cancel etc. instead of only your own board(micro) also focus on garbage and even opponent's board Note that this is just an explanation and you should learn to stack until maybe U or X. It does help you win if you learn it in lower ranks(than what I said) but stacking is more important and is harder to learn at higher ranks

"why is this guy movememt so weird is he a controller- oh"
that was literally my reaction watching this, the entire time i was like "damn this guy plays like a bot wtf... oh wait-"
5:32 what is that tspin, soft drop -> ccw -> 180 -> 180 -> 180 -> hard drop
7:46 sheesh that linespin was nasty

Not to be a downer but 0:35 isn't too impressive when compared to pro players
Ive seen bots do way crazier moves

9:54 the bot sensed icly is nearly top of board and created an impromptu attack wow!
It looked like a human until it just accepted its death.
9:02 wtf
This is my new favorite tetris bot
I wanna see how cz would do against cobra considering it is very good at counterattacking

Icly bot needs a new update now. Diao pls fix it
Yes pls fix it
I think what makes this bot stand out is its impressive survival
why Cobra knows the exact location of the upcoming garbage hole.
just more skill than zzztoj

The only thing missing from the bot is more extensive Macro knowledge and when to tank/cancel hmm

it has macro in the sense of tanking for more resource, but not tanking cuz opponent vulnerable

when can the community get their hands on cobra? I'd like to play it, i have also have a spare pc at home that i don't use, rtx 2080 and i7 7700k
so i need to play like bot lol

feels like Ting704 with 150% skill and unhuman timing strategy.
