    I am a teacher in rural India. I may not have such a magnanimous luxurious life, but I enjoy being with people, living together, and enjoying life together! Kudos to your life too!!!

Insead, he is a poor teacher in India, but enjoys being with people, living together and enjoying life in a community. The FB guy lives life alone and his community is probably inexistent. At the end he wishes him the best. Really not that hard to grasp.

    I’ve been lucky enough to see this in person. I got family that works in the same office and they were able to give us a tour. I grew up in the northeast so the whole Silicon valley vibe was doing it for me. But it definitely looks like a nice comfy place to work

And how does the procedure itself go, how can you contact support after arriving at the office, because in our country it does not work through the website, you need to unblock the page.

    Wish my day was that easy as a senior product marketing manager. Spend 4-6 hours in meetings then another 2-4 hours building decks, replying emails and developing strategy documents, for way less money. Thank god I love what I do.

      the fact you think his job is "easy" just goes to show you're in the right place. some people would say that sitting in a meeting without doing jack shit like you do most of the time is "easy". Software Engineer use their heads for their job, thinking requires alot of energy, your job doesnt, therefore you're getting paid less and have to "work" more time

      @@casualBob7 the marketers that sit in meetings and do nothing are the ones that do not last nor grow. Like engineers, product marketers serve a purpose, which is to figure out the best way to explain why a customer needs to buy a product and how it's going to make their lives better, which in turn create demand to drive sales. When I say "easy," I'm referring to ease of schedule, not brainpower required.

    Well.. I work like x2 of hours of this guy in a similar position in a company that is based in a 3rd world country. Can only pay for foods and bills.. The geography you live is destiny I guess.. I want to feel the feeling of like not to worry about buying new anything. Hope one day everyone will deserve what they get for their hardwork 🙏🏻✌️

      Remember in life you make choices. You can make the choice to move to a different city/country and earn more money. You already speak english.
      There's not enough money in the world for everyone to be paid the same.

I am just mad at people who are in charge. Everything could be better but unfortunately everything got worse in terms of economy and society.. Anyways, I will make the sacrifice to go abroad and look after my loved ones. And I know I will have great friends and bonds with new people in wherever I will go. Looking forward to my next destination 🦾

      @@biggestthreattoyourexistence Typical first worlder. Try talking to someone who has relocated to another country from a third world country. Even if they make good money they never feel at home, specially in the USA. Also, if you think just having work skills is enough to get a job in another country, you're dead wrong and if you think people can relocate to a developed nation without, you're dead wrong about 99% of the population in 3rd world countries. Most of us aren't rich enough. It's truly a privilege to be born in a developed nation

      @@erensarnic4058 Easy, it's not only like that because of the people in charge. It is very similar in many third world countries, like those in SouthAmerica. We don't get much of a salary like this guy on the video nor get access to such a good cafeteria, environment, yoghurt, freedom, hours of work, etc. This is what our countries are like, so if you want to change that, either choose a country to work in (Usa, Canada etc) or make your own company. Otherwise it is gonna be difficult to change this third world job situation.

      I totally get what you feel. Back in my home country, a fresh graduate software engineer earns $700/month average. But i made a lot of sacrifices to come to the US to have a better life and i’m glad i did.

    Everyone here seem happy about this working day.
    To me It doesn't look like heaven. Getting up at 7:30, starting to work at 9:30, going home at 5:30 PM and getting home like 6:30 PM is terrible! No free time for your hobbies or family.
    I have a similar job, but I get up at 5:30 AM, start working at 7:00 and going home at 3:30 PM (fridays 1:30 PM) and that is waaaay better.
    Just spending whole day at work looks like hell to me and doesn't matter how much I love my job.

      I agree, I hate all these corporatists activities; just staying at office without doing any work or doing activities with colleagues... I prefer going home ASAP and spending quality time with my family.

      I currently work at Amazon and we work only 4 days a week 10 hours a day. The pay is not amazing but I have to admit the schedule flexibility is nice.

      @@isaiahshears3407 I took a year after I finished school to pursue my passion - acting, performing, media. I had opportunities along the way and took them. I also just knew that sitting in front of the computer and working a 9-5 wasn't for me. But don't get me wrong, I loved programming, AI and being the project manager/leader in school and I'm a computer geek up until now!

      @@leigao5727 explain to me how come people that work at Meta and IG don’t really handle disable account cases how come, they keep ignoring our appeals? You guys don’t even have a decent phone number to call so many people are locked out of the accounts or disabled and they can’t get any help because the pill forms don’t even work it’s all automated.

      There is many different types of jobs at Meta and companies like Meta. You have to contact them, look at their job postings.
      Since you are watching this video you must want to be a developer. Go to college. Then apply. Easy.

    As a previous employee of meta (tier 2) this is great! I find it interesting to see an software engineer. But yeah working with meta feels so, lonely coz every employee and as well as your teammates has different schedules. So, most of the time you're alone. Even from break and lunch time.

      Generally for me teams got lunch together (if they could) when I was there, it just happened people were working from home that day, also I chose not to show other people for privacy reasons - so the video makes it looks a bit more lonely than it actually is. Overall I loved my time at Meta though, glad you liked the video!:)

    I wonder how many times "Meta" had to review this video before allowing it out. I'm a recruiter and headhunting Meta people is pretty easy, now I see why. Sterile, soulless environment and lame office. However; I think you are awesome Austin and please keep your options open. There are so many better companies to work for quality of life wise. I didn't know how much until I saw this. There is more to life than making your folks happy by working for a company they have heard of.

Do you think a company should give you a new laptop every 6 months? They provide lunch which is more than most companies. And who cares what color the walls are. If you're staring at the walls then you're not working hard enough

    I work on the same field, and it is true what some of the comments say, it gets lonely sometimes, specially during/after covid times, where most of the people work from home/remotely and there's less human interaction

    Very sad day, always alone, work alone, eat alone, leave alone. He have a best car in the world but preffer take a shuttle to see some people around. He did’t smile even during the meeting because it’s very sad place to be. Dude money is not all in life. Be happy dont be alone good luck to you 👍🏻

    First, let me premise this comment to say, in no way is this an attack on this good kid. Now a few observations. I, personally, find that lifestyle devoid of any feeling or life. Get up, shower, go to shuttle, work in a warehouse, then go home. The worst part were the massive lines of displays and cafeteria tables to work at. The only thing I experienced in this video that had any life to it, was the upbeat music. The only time I saw this kid smile, was at the end of the video. Maybe he was really relieved to be leaving the dungeons at Meta? I sincerely hope that this nice kid experiences a life outside of what we see here. I’m sure he makes a good living here, but one day, anything he’s doing, will be replaced by a robot/software, probably written by AI. To me, working at a place like that, is about as repulsive a thing that I can imagine. Just think of the music was changed to something less upbeat, I probably wouldn’t have got through the entire video.
    Again, I mean this as no offense to the author of this video. I’m sure he’s a nice guy.

      anything hes doing will never be replaced by AI, never, you have to not be a software engineer to say something like this, and yes the video seems depressing, but he has to make friends at work, other than that seems like very good conditions, cafeteria has a lot of restaurants and workspace is very clean

      How exciting is it to extract player stats from a giant database? What do you want him to do dance a tango? It's not fun. He is building something brick by brick and all of the pretty scenery doesn't distract from the monotony of data mining. He is earning good $ for it in a very competitive environment.

    That was really great! I was wondering where you have the opportunity to interact with other colleagues in person. I gather the video did purposely exclude to leave where possible others out of the video, and with the number of desks shown at the beginning, there are many others that sit around you. Just the same, it did leave me feeling that you pretty much are in isolation within the work areas. Overall, it was a really nice and interesting composition; I especially liked your humour.

      @@huangzeyong Probably an additional cost for parking permits, security clearance for the vehicle, and many companies have shuttle stops like the one in the video. So it might be an overall money saver.

      @@dominichunt5608 There’s no additional cost. Meta covers everything and there’s plenty of parking… Traffic just sucks in the Bay Area so why waste your own gas/charge?
      A lot of us like to use the time on the shuttle to go through email to get the work day started or vice versa to wrap up any work or emails.

    I saw the news that Zukerberg wants to fire the underperform employees, many ppl are saying he may included employees who have ‘extra’ time to create YT channels. Too much extra time = too much free time at work. Did you feel any pressure internally yet?

    So he wake up at 7:30, walk out of home at 8:10, and start working at 9:30, almost two hours of waste on commute. This is why WFH is better. Saving time, energy, money, and protect the environment. Why aren't the big techs leading the way now? I thought they are big on protecting the environment.

      @@leonnoirsr whats interesting is some companies are still making plans to build more huge office buildings. They think they can fight the trend. Almost half of the workforce don't want to go back to office now especially with current car market and gas price. Nothing is enough to justify 4 hours waste of time on commute everyday.

    Sure would be nice if you didn't have to drive to the shuttle and there was some kind of efficient method of transportation that could get you there.
