The Main street (Glavna) was recently reconstructed. The Gospodska pedestrian street was reconstructed a few years ago, and many facades in Glavna and Gospodska have been renovated a few years ago.

@@ivanangeli Historically and geographically Zemun has been separate from Belgrade for centuries. It is mentioned by Stefan Nemanja alongside but separate from Belgrade in some of his writings from the 1300s. It was only after the formation of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes that Zemun was merged with Belgrade, and even that didn't last for long because in WW2 Zemun was occupied and was a part of The independent state of Croatia, which Belgrade was not. After the liberation of Zemun in 1944, the two towns are merged again. But you can't erase the long and separate history of Zemun that it had before its first merging with Belgrade in 1934. Zemun je austrougarski grad koji se prisajedinio sa oslobođenim od Turaka Beogradom nakon pada Habzburške monarhije i srpske pobedeu u Velikom ratu. 😊
My Zemun is the best town in the world!

Another joke by the folks from Zemun. Belgrade has two rivers - Danube and "the other one".
Zemun is part of Beograd, not a city.
@@ivanangeli this is a saying that I've heard people from Zemun say (jokingly of course)
@@Dunya.travel I am from Banovo Brdo, we say Banovo Brdo is republic :)
