I am going to tell a story that I warn young people not to repeat, or you will find yourself in jail if you do so !! I was 23 years old in 1986 when I saw White Heart in concert for their "Don't Wait For The Movie" tour, HAD A BLAST !! I LOVED the "Don't Wait For The Movie" album, so much so, that while driving home from work one day in 1986, I was rocking to my "Don't Wait For The Movie" cassette and I got a little bit too excited, and got pulled over by the police for going 110 MPH. The officer gave me my ticket and let me go, but today you will go straight to jail !! I paid a lawyer $200 to make that ticket go away, and the lawyer did what he said he would do, and the ticket NEVER showed up on my driving record, and I NEVER went to court !! A lawyer can NOT do that today, as you WILL go straight to jail as soon as an officer gets you pulled over, and you will lose your Drivers License for a full year !! Don't do it young people !! The 80's was like a whole different era than today !! I am so lucky to have not killed someone during the craziness of my youth !! Don't do 110 MPH !!
To see White Heart and Petra togather, had to be a great concert !! The Best concert that I ever saw was Petra at Six Flags over Texas in 1984 or 1985, it was one of those two years !! Greg X Volts was the lead singer of Petra at that time, and he could belt out some serious vocals back then !! Best concert I have ever seen, and I have been to many !! If you can name a Christian Band or Christian singer from the 80's, I can almost assure you that I saw them in Concert !! To name a few ... White Heart, Micheal W. Smith, Amy Grant, Russ Taff, Bryan Duncan, Steve Camp, Sandy Patti, Degarmo and Key, and the list goes on !!
@@marknemer BTW, concerning the greatness of Rick Florian .... After White Heart broke up in the late 90's , I learned that Rick Florian was working in Real Estate, and in what city he was working in Real Estate. I proceeded to look up Real Estate companies in that city, and found Rick Florian's name on one of them !! I called the number not really expecting what I got, Rick Florian answered the phone to my shock, and he confessed that he was the former lead singer of White Heart !! He was very nice and polite to me, but I did not deserve it, as it was 100% the wrong thing to do !! If I had been him, I would have scolded me at least a little bit, but he never did !! I did not keep him on the phone long, as I was super embarrassed !! Rick Florian is one of the truly great Guys !!
Wow!! Absolutely amazing show!! What energy!!! Rick!!! :o Wish i could have seen the guys before the band broke up. Got all the cd's!! Turned me on to Dann Huff many years back!!
So good! What a time machine!! My favorite band (still) of all time. These songs were the soundtrack to my young faith journey! Saw them live at Mariott's Great America in CA way back when. Loved them then... love them now! Thank you for sharing this!
Thanks so much. This is amazing. Amazing because despite the picture being a bit grainy and the audio quality understandably not fantastic one can still hear how amazingly similar this is to the studio recordings of the songs - the music is tight and man Rick's vocals are scarily good - he is without doubt one of the best rock vocalists around.
@@marknemer I was growing up in South Africa at the time, became a Christian at around 12 years old and started to listen to Whiteheart albums from around the Hotline era onwards. I think Don't wait for the Movie was the album that made WH my favourite band and that has remained the case until today ! I remember your name well (I believe you did drums on the Powerhouse album) . Whiteheart were a great inspiration to us and I remember at a tumultuous time in South Africa's history Whiteheart came and toured the country and appeared at our Rand Easter show (Highlands album era) and what a blessing they were, I actually got to chat with some of the guys afterwards. Fantastic performance and 'Heaven of my Heart' even charted on the South African secular pop charts . Later on in life I became a part of a small time amateur Christian youth band 'Desert Rain' and we played youth groups, camps and even some secular venues and Whiteheart was the standard bearer that we took inspiration from. Many years later some of us have been able to re-record some of our songs which has been very satisfying. Whiteheart songs have inspired me time and time again in my walk with Jesus over the years and I am so blessed that all of you guys were obedient and 'answered the call' on your lives - The Lord achieved more through you guys than you could ever know - Thank you to every one of you for everything you did. I know now it must have been a hard and difficult road at times and not always about the 'fame' and bright lights with many ups and downs but you guys were blessed and it showed in your music. Thanks again !
Thank you thank you thank you for your amazing words! I so greatly appreciated it! So glad we were able to make some kind of impact. That’s really special! Continued success to you in all you do and thank you so very much for all your support!!!
Loved this band and their message! However, there’s a pretty obvious explanation for Florian’s amazingly similar vocals to the studio recording. It’s very obvious the backing vocals are being performed live. Lead vocals, not so much. Lots of bands did it (and still do it), but this is not a 100% live lead vocal performance.
Sorry but your wrong. We very seldom used backing tracks. Maybe on 2-3 songs live. All live for almost %100 of show and no click-track is used. It’s called practice and honing your craft. And being faithful and developing your God-given talent.
Gosh, I started seeing these guys back in the mid 80's. Saw pretty much each tour after that. Always loved them. Truly under-appreciated talent and musicianship. Good job, Mark!
