What I've noticed with diamonds is they have that crisp twinkle/flicker of broad white flashes. Moissanite has a more fuzzy look to it. It has a scattered rainbow/smaller white sparkles opposed to the large white flashes with that twinkle effect diamonds have. They will light up and refract super bright white light at the right angles but performs differently and doesn't have that "twinkle" effect If that makes sense. Love both tho they are both unique I just love the way diamonds perform and that on and off effect of large white flashes. That's literally the only w diamonds have over moissy imo. Is the performance of white light refraction. The day moissanite is cut in such a way that gives it that same twinkle effect even if at the expense of slightly less fire is the day diamonds are dead to me lol.

I think if they lower they grade of moissanite from d, it can lower the rainbow effect and possibly give the diamond effect. Not sure but a guess

Yes. I always noticed the rainbow effect on moissanite. As opposed to diamonds are more white and pure almost clear white

Yoo I was just wondering what they difference was. Imo I wish black stones in general had some opacity instead of solid black facets but they basically look identical

I know I feel the same, to be honest I didn't have the best lighting to show. They light up more In better lighting

They’re both pretty. But neither will return fire like transparent stones. Because both are opaque. The difference between the black diamond and black moissanite is the black diamond is internally black like a piece of coal is, and black moissanite is colored by different means of chemical vapor dispersion. Which is a process of bonding color to the surface of the stone after it’s been cut and polished. Which makes it susceptible to chemicals and detergents and abrasive agents when cleaning and general usage. Which the black diamonds are not.

I never heard of that. And I doubt it since its usually recommended to clean your moissanite no different.

Problem with black moissanite is most people would think it's CZ, I know some dislike that the white moissanite hits too hard, and people question it, but at least they don't confuse it for CZ
