There is another home roaster machine produced by a Chinese brand: Santoker Q5 Master. It's extremely similar to IKAWA but cost a little less (~£1000). It would be nice if we could see a head-to-head comparison review.
More videos about home roasting, please! 👍🏻 I nominate Bergstrands coffee roasters from Göteborg, an amazing family business since 1891, who are still innovating and trying new things.
Tim Wendelboe. I’ve always been interested in hearing their stories of working with farmers to drive quality up, but I don’t think I’ve seen their approach to roasting explained yet. They only do modern roasts, and I only like modern roasts.
It depends, I think some flavour descriptors are generated on every level. It's always subjective. In case of this video, flavour descriptions care from the coffee producers at Daterra farm. More often, we talk about flavour descriptors on the level of coffee roasters who need to find a way how to communicate coffee to their customers.
Not sure about 100/250g version - since it is primarily used for sample roasting of small batches of coffee. I can imagine having a bigger version for home roasters but I guess design would need to change completely.
Great video, great product and great coffee farm! Would be great to see you hanging with the Square Mile crew for a video. And I know the feeling all to well of roasting a coffee and being too excited to wait to try it :)
I haven't experienced really any specialty roasters yet as I'm fairly new to this home barista thing (still need a brewing scale and a good pouring device or kettle) but I really like the coffee from 'Black Rifle Coffee Company' (Salt Lake City, Utah, USA) so far. Looking forward to expanding my horizon with different styles of coffee roasts, brewing techniques and so on.

More often, we talk about flavour descriptors on the level of coffee roasters who need to find a way how to communicate coffee to their customers.
