i think the reason gifted kids tend to not do so great is because at a young age they just get things, so they dont put any effort in to learn more because they already know whats going on in school. Eventually they get to a point in school where not paying attention is going to screw them over, school caught up with their brain. The habit of not putting work in is hard to change, and they just struggle to actually put in effort, and then just quit.

The reason that child genuses fail so often is because they are used to not having a challenge, so when the difficulty ramps up or the point they are overwhelmed, they don’t have a way to cope like people who have had to deal with it for year before. Being smart is not everything, you need experience as well.

Hated it at first but when I got used to it and understood the math better, I loved it a lot and around 2nd grade I was already doing middle school work and when I approached middle school, I was already doing grade 10 and 11 work… however Covid came and my mom stopped taking me and some of my siblings there, and at first I sort of flew through all my junior year of high school… but towards the last few units of last semester of this year I was struggling with math, didn’t even bother trying to learn in school, grew lazy, no longer had a desire to learn math, and never bothered trying… my worst fear came without me realising… I wanted to give up… I’m now a sophomore and want to drop out…

Coming from someone who at a young age skipped a grade and took gifted classes in elementary and middle school we give up super easy and give up on it because your parents pressure you I didn’t get too see friends much because they preferred me too focus academically idk if this is the same for other’s but for me this is how it was that’s a quick and simple explanation

As a kid who is very smart I believe people give up because the pressure and expectations get to them, I have straight A’s and have the choice to skip a grade but it sucks when I have a bad day and everyone thinks you are not smart no more it really sucks 7:56
