Droplets of Life: Providing Clean Water for Vulnerable Communities with Ferdaus Chia

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
Dear brothers and sisters, water, the essence of life, sustains us in every aspect, from nourishment to hygiene and agriculture. It is a fundamental human need, without which survival is impossible. Yet, millions worldwide struggle to access clean water, leading to dire health consequences and perpetuating the cycle of poverty, particularly impacting children. Today, 785 million people lack clean water, and 842,000 perish annually due to water-related illnesses, underscoring the urgency of the situation. Women and children spend 200 million hours a year collecting water, which is a colossal waste of time and a missed opportunity of work and study, hence keeping them locked in a cycle of poverty, unable to earn and safe for a brighter future. I believe that everyone deserves the right to safe, clean water.
That is why I am launching Droplets of Life: Providing Clean Water for Vulnerable Communities with Ferdaus Chia, a fundraising campaign dedicated to ensuring access to clean water, especially during the sacred month of Muharram. This initiative is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves this basic human right.
Water is not only a physical necessity but also a divine blessing, as emphasised in the Qur'an. It is the source of life, a mercy from Allah, and a means of earning His favour through acts of kindness. The significance of Muharram as a sacred month further amplifies the impact of our efforts, as it is a time of reflection, charity, and multiplied rewards for good deeds.
Our mission is to provide sustainable, long-term solutions for clean water access, empowering vulnerable communities such as Cambodia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Gaza (Palesitne), with the tools and knowledge to maintain their water sources and improve their overall well-being. However, this mission cannot be achieved alone.

projects that will help install hand pumps, hybrid water wells, community water wells, solar water station, electric water wells, ablution places, and clean water for Gaza (Palestine).
