This is my favorite week of diving! We found so much goodies! Good news if you didn't hear, Edgar and I are producing a dumpster diving show! Shot in a higher format and coming soon along with new content that I have dreamt of making for a long time, I'll have to make a sort of update video for my plans! We can't wait for it to be here. As there will be a hiatus between now and then, I may make a Week 26 or make some other filler videos (like vlogs, Najenda, skits, etc.) What would you guys like to see from me? Facts about me? HA! I enjoyed the dive. It brought some perspective to the lack of compassion that humanity has to offer by throwing away things of value that could easily go to children who have the misfortune of not having such luxuries. I used to dive, and donate all my stuff to the childrens home right down the road from me in my home town. but sadly, due to an accident and crippling arthritis, I'm no longer capable of diving.
We donate a lot of stuff, we sell some, we keep a lot, always just depends on the item. :) Thank you so much for watching and I'm sorry you can't dive anymore! :/
Cool, I usually help to supervise dives now since I can't actually climb into bins now. teaching those who want to know about diving the proper safety methods to keep from getting hurt or worse when they jump in.
Being careful comes in handy, especially with the right equipment. I usually take a small cut from being on site with them. But nothing major. The best thing we've come across so far was a pallet of game consoles, half of which were severely damaged due to being dropped from a forklift when it was being unloaded from a trailer. in total there were 40 consoles, 15 were crushed, but the rest were fine, minus maybe 5 that had cracked cases.
I kept one, three of my members kept one as well, and the rest were donated to needy familys during Christmas. (Minus a few that were sold to gather money to purchase a couple games for each console.)
It was heart breaking to see all of those that had been tossed into the garbage just because a few were broken. But, in the end, it all worked out.

You are an inspiration! I went and found if there was a half price books near me.. and there was one around 1/2 hour away. So I went today just to see if there was anything to get... good GOD.. I managed to snag 2 books 1 dvd and a cd! Next time I go I am going to go earlier and take a step stool as it is a HIGH dumpster.

I have a nice entertainment center that I am using as a wardrobe. A neighbor was throwing it out (because of chipping and the back coming apart) and I salvaged it. The chipping and scratches were minimal and the back was easy to repair. I never used to think about dumpster diving as a way to score nice things. I thought it as something for starving homeless or weird hippies. Cool video. It's giving me a different perspective on the topic.

Kevin Almanza If you live near a big city where there are tons of Gamestops then go to several. Definitely hit up Gamestop and any other game stores near you. Hopefully you have halfprice books, that place always has something.

I like the fact that the man in this video has the courtesy to throw the rubbish back in, despite the fact it wasn't him that caused the mess. It's one thing to look for gaming treasures in dumpsters, but I like the fact that he was very respectful of what he does. I really do like your video 2 thumbs up but I can only give one.

I'm officially retiring from diving after seeing this video..just made me absolutely sick to my stomach seeing all this stuff found and knowing I could never find 1/2 of those items unless it was hand-given to me. #IMDONE
What? Why would you stop diving? If anything this should motivate you to not give up? Half Price Books here where I live are always fruitful. You could totally find this stuff...it's not like we ALWAYS get this lucky, ya know? We have more days where we find nothing than when we find great stuff. I'd advise you to not stop, but totally your choice.
Tales Of Taylor I don't have a Half Price Books/Hastings in my area..just Radio Shack and Gamestop and LITERALLY the day I sent you that email, I have only found FF13 with disc 3 missing, Halo 4 with disc 2 missing though it came with Halo 3 Campaign, and Beyblade for the DS though it was only the game...since then I haven't even found anything at all..not even empty cases on any of the available consoles. And Gamestop is literally 5 minutes from my place which is walking distance which makes me the only person in my area that visits that spot.
ascorpion2002 I don't understand...THOS ARE STILL GOOD FINDS! They are free no matter which way you slice it. And if it's walking distance, that's more reason to constantly check it.
Tales Of Taylor What I'm trying to elude here..is that the time it takes you and your crew to go through HPB alone and get finds there in a weeks time would take me about 2 years of me going to GS and not even finding 1/3 of the things you find. The nearest HPB to where I stay is literally 3 states away leaving me stuck with a single GS location that doesn't believe in throwing out anything useful or worth keeping, especially when I've been visiting that spot everyday since it first opened it's doors nearly 5 years ago and those pics I sent you were all I've found thus far out of the time that spot's been open and I can't just go to 'another location' because they're simply is none or we wouldn't be having this little discussion...
***** Well where I'm at..they LITERALLY don't throw anything useful out..sure there are empty DS cases here and there, but no one buys them, so it would make no sense to keep them since no one buys them and the nintendo club codes no longer work..so watching these videos of these guys finding ps2/ps3/wii/360 games practically scratch-free and in their respective cases just feels like a swift kick to the groin ya know.
I used to work at dunkin donuts in high school and people would dumpster dive for the old donuts. So eventually we started throwing old coffee grounds and hot water on them before tossing them out. People stopped going thru our dumpsters after that.

A few years back i found a gold gameboy color new in the box in a dumpster outside a GameStop where I live and the next day I sold it to the exact same GameStop for $100 because it was a limeted edition color. It was the most hilarious moments in my life! Lol they were literally buying their own trash!lol

HPB is AMAZING! I can't believe what they throw away! We have one just up the street and have gotten TONS of stuff! The only bad thing is they lock the dumpster that they put movies and games in, so we need to get a grabber. :)

If you get books from the dumpster, you can always resell the books back to Half Price Books (probably a different one). You'll get a few bucks, nothing crazy, but money is money.

Lol wut? Then you either don't clean your car or your friends must have smelly asses. As for a door knob, I use my shirt to open them. Digging in a dumpster without gloves is unsanitary and hardly worth it.

Damn, just got to the end and see you 'found a cat in the dumpster' - I always get depressed finding animals stray or lost like that. It's wonderful you took her in. I can recommend for all cat owners if you have the $, to buy wet Ziwipeak or Evo food (Evo gone downhill though I can imagine since Proctor & Gamble bought them out) - you end up saving a bunch of money on vet bills if you get 'non junk' pet food (what most of it actually is, not made from proper meat but cereals and grains). Another thing for kitty care is to make sure you deworm + desex/neuter - it will make them happier not being on heat and worms and parasites are the first thing you need to treat with a street animal. Anyway new to your vids and just wanted to chime in as a cat/animal lover. Great job on returning Princess too, what a sweet puppy! I'm thinking of taking a leash with me in my bag now after having a dog run out on me late at night a few days ago on the weekend. Wasn't able to find it after kept running away but previously have had to use my belt as a lead. And it's not fun holding a belt lead AND your pants up at the same time hehe. Anyway, thanks for a great video and so glad to hear you looking after the kitty - one last thing, did you check at a vet or shelter to see if it has microchip? Maybe it's lost and an owner is worried sick..

I'm honestly thankful these guys rescued that projector, the GBA that Super Nintendo and that Game Gear. Those retro systems deserve a good home. It hurts my soul to think that if it wasn't for these guys, all those systems would've wound up in a dumpster

Nice video. Reminds me of when I used to find working Intellivision 2s and 2600s in the trash. Just a suggestion, though: you really should wear gloves and steel toe boots when you dumpster dive. There could be a LOT of nasty stuff in that dumpster like boards with rusty nails, dead animals, broken glass, and used needles just to name a few.

Legal all over the U.S.! Some places, like counties are more strict about it, but as long as you are not on private property, it is legal! :)

here in Canada they lock up their dumpsters and and even put a huge wood fence around most of them. i think its illegal to dumpster dive in canada because your on private property. even stores that sell window blinds lock up their dumpsters here.
I have never been dumpster diving but want to. And I live in Canada. And, where I live, (Ontario) I don't see many dumpsters with fences around them. But, I don't know if they are locked up.
