Honestly leading up to this week, I was actually expecting to see a Faye Tozer level of Theatre/Jazz dance from them. And while it wasn’t quite there, I definitely think this was one of their better dances.
This was when they started I think
I wanted to like this more than I did. She`s a great performer but I wanted it to be a little crisper and faster, very good though 8/10
That's basically the story of their Strictly journey. Always left wanting more.
My favourite dance of the night since seeing fosseverdon I appreciate this kind of dance and different to the ballroom usual😊
But you aren’t a professional dancer and in the dancing industry this is very good

So many Jazz details here, absolutely excellent, great straight leg and her shoulder movements were brilliant. Very many Bob Fosse moves and lovely hat tricks that were executed very very well. Her timing was brilliant except for one incident, the only thing I would say is for more energy but it was classy and jazzy, this dance really suits Emma and her personality shone throughout this. Slick and clean but also with a tint of sneaky feel in there. Good footwork, her joint best dance so far with her Viennese Waltz. *9/10*

So glad to finally see a theatre jazz dance. I’m already over contemporary/street commercial. If I were on the show I’d 100% choose theatre jazz!
Faye and Giovanni and Graeme and Oti did theater jazz in 2018
I honestly think she’s SO good and I never really get the negative comments she gets sometimes
I did realise she lost her balance sometimes in this but other than that she did so well

comments she gets from the judges every week, when you compare her to some of the others she’s actually really good but the judges only pick on her all the time

This is definitely Emma’s strong dance style.
Some slight timing issues but I don’t think it was her.
She reminded me of Liza Minelli in Cabaret at the end. She had that look.
I very rarely criticize Anton for anything but I thought Emma out danced him in parts, and it even looked like he made a mistake in a spot (0.50) and looked at her to get back in time. Good routine but I feel Emma could do even better. Hopefully we see that in Blackpool

I agree. Apparently she has toured with Chicago before though, and this is very Fosse Chicago style choreo so she should be very comfortable with it. Whereas it’s an unfamiliar style for Anton.
@N Al I wasn't trying to be offensive it's just it looked unrehearsed if that's the word
@@irenetaylor3451 I think that's the main issue of those two. Since Emma is on Eastenders and constantly filming, they don't have as much time for training and rehearsing than other couples do, that's why her dances always seem a bit underrehearsed.
@@maritta2504 Yeah it's a shame when their work commitments don't allow more studio time. I never really paid attention to that side of the competition before but it really makes a difference between the contestants. She's doing amazing considering her schedule
In this dance Emma is the professional, the detail that she puts into each step from the way she holds her hat to the way she walks down the stairs is gorgeous. Is there synchronicity issues between them? Yes. However when you listen to the beats of the music Emma hits the marks more often than not which leads me to believe it’s actually Anton a second behind the beat. Theatre/Jazz suits her down to a tee and is definitely my favourite dance (and my favourite style in strictly, so I’m glad we’ve finally had one this year). This is the Emma we should get each week, a confident performer who nails every step and shows that she is a true professional - get the girl on the west end. 9/10

Bilbo Baggins I agree she really should be SOO much further forward than she is but I just dint think Anton knows how to choreograph someone who can actually dance. He’s so used to just trying to get people to retain steps that when it comes to finesse he clearly doesn’t knuckle down as much as someone like AJ or Giovanni.
Bilbo Baggins I always found Weymouth a tad stiff especially in her latin dances. Alex has near doubled in confidence but I’m still not sure she’s got the skill to make it the whole way

Welcome Back Emma to the competition i loved this dance Emma looked so much more in her game a little too many poses and a just a tad bit unsteady at times but overall i LOVED this dance i think this dance gave Emma the confidence boost she needs going into next week really she gets ballroom next week overall incredible dance 9/10
Fantastic, I wasn’t sure about the song at the beginning but it had the right feels for theatre jazz.
Parts were out of sync and i feel it could have been rougher round the edges.
However a terrific response to her drop in recent weeks.
This will be one of those dances that could have been A MAZ ING but is just missing that extra magic to make it an iconic dance.

Wow so well executed. Great choreography and loved all the Fosse stuff. All the little details were there like using choreographed facial expressions and isolations. I loved this

Gold Rose To be fair Anton didn’t choreograph this dance so I think he’s really to blame for the choreo I thought Emma did the best what we she got I actually enjoy the dance Emma looked more in her element I hope she gets an elegant dance for blackpool like American Smooth or Waltz

Few timing/reflecting issues but I can forget about them. She brought bot only Jazz to that routine but Love! Hat tricks were enough to remember, but she pulled them off! Where is Emma anton and what have you done with her? Love seeing a Non Ballroom side to Emma. Pretty Well performed! 7
I think emma did Very well she is a true professional and puts effort into her performance one can see she worked hard and anton is a pro if I was to pass a critic that would be a little bit more of the sharpest attitude and slickness , but apart from that great performance she deserves to stay.
It was a bit slow for me personally and I love seeing Emma everyweek! She executed all the moves very good but could have been a bit crispier for me if that makes sense... anyways good effort 7️⃣💃🏻👌🏽👍🏽
For a couple's choice routine, it felt pretty basic. I mean she executed the steps pretty good, but it felt like she showed personality while trying to remember the steps. However, I believe her couple's choice wasn't choreographed by Anton, so I can't blame him, but yeah, it was meh this week. I'm happy that no one low-balled her like last week though. 7.5!!!

For me it was probably Emma best dance yet! She has definitely captured the style of the dance - how the legs and the arms, and generally how the whole body should move. I loved the choreography and Emma’s execution of it, because it had a lot of “Fussy” elements and details in it. It was pretty clean and rhythmical and this style definitely suited Emma. Unfortunately, there was a little wobble at the beginning, she lost synchronization with Anton one or two times and for me she has slightly underperformed - it looked like she is holding back a little bit for some reason, I wanted to see her daring more, I wanted to see some sassiness from her. Haven’t said that, it was a very pleasing routine, technically undeniably strong… I just want her to give 200% out there on the dance floor. A 7.

The section starting 1:18 really slows down the dance. I wasn’t a massive fan of that part and I thought she could have been sharper overall but an improvement nonetheless.
Emma is back. I had a feeling she would excel in this style, and she was right at home. The only big critique, which admittedly is a pretty big one, is she was out of sync with Anton a lot throughout the routine. (8)
Really entertaining. Great song choice, it’s hugely underrated.
What's going on at 0:48? Is Anton correcting a mistake or did Emma go wrong. He hesitates before continuing with his back to us.

I saw a stumble close to the beginning. There was great energy and enthusiasm from her in the dance but after watching Faye Tozer do her Theatre/Jazz unfortunately it didn’t live up to it. But I did find the dance enjoyable and it was danced fairly well
Emma was fine in this- but the routine itself never went anywhere. I kept waiting for something specific to happen, but it never did, and then- it was all over. And that's not her fault, or even Anton's as it was choreographed by an outsider. Sadly I think it's downhill from here for Emma, given jazz theatre was playing to her background experience and strengths and yet it still only got a 33. At least she got to do a dance she loved and gets to Blackpool. I hope she also gets what she was hoping for in the West End off the back of all of this. Seems a lovely lady.
I think Emma will actually dance well next week since she has American Smooth for Blackpool

Why do they call it "Couple's Choice" if the celeb chooses a dance style connected to their own background in some way? Not picking on Emma specifically...but that is how has worked so far on Strictly in most of the cases. If it is "Couple's Choice", why show a VT of the celeb's backstory? If that is how it is approached, shouldn't the category be renamed to "Celebrities' Choice" instead?

It's hard not to compare this to Faye's jazz routine with Giovanni. Obviously that's unfair since Faye has a bit of a dance background so she could execute things a bit sharper but something felt a bit lack lustre here and I normally love all of Emma's performances. I wasn't even feeling Anton that much either tbh 😓

I liked it, but I feel like it needed more moves, and she needs to learn how to walk like a dancer. She did mistakes, and it could of had been better. But well done Emma! 7/10
Correct me if I am wrong, but has she done a Latin dance other than the rumba, which she was rubbish at. Fixed so Anton gets to the finals at the expense of a more around dancer. Not impressed!
