That is a really tough question! In short, both hotels are definitely in my top 4 in Jakarta, meaning you won't go wrong with either one. However, it comes down to what you're looking for from a stay. The St. Regis is definitely more resort-like, with such a stunning pool and an extensive breakfast. The Langham has a stunning pool, but it's a little small and doesn't have the relaxing qualities that The StR has. The St. Regis breakfast is the best in Jakarta. Service is exceptional in both but I'd give the edge to The St. Regis. I think the biggest factor is the location- The Langham is located in a business district and definitely more suitable for business travelers. The St. Regis is a hotel nearby the Bundaran HI and the malls surrounding it. Sorry, this was rather long. Bottom line: Traveling for leisure - The St. Regis Traveling for business - The Langham. But like I said, both along with the Park Hyatt and Raffles are my favorite hotels in Jakarta. And I've been to almost every single one :)
