Thanks , not always unfortunately! I do like some of these I went back to the river the next week and we had mist , I shot a video that will upload next week
great video and amazing photos from the old timer!! BTW, at 1:26 is that Porthleven?? If so, we lived there back in the late 80s when I was stationed at nearby Culdrose!!
Great video and amazing images. What did you mean with cropping from 6x9 to 6x17? I thought cropping means taking away something from a picture, not adding. (sorry, I'm a non-native speaker)
He clearly meant the "6x17 Aspect Ratio"... the cropped negative/image becomes smaller than 6x9 size actually. You cannot get 6x17 from a 6x9 camera so it must have been an error or a form of click-bait. Nice photos though. I also use that crop aspect ratio so nothing wrong with it.
Does new shutter releases work for these? I bought a zeiss ikon, but shutter release cable is missing , not sure if i should order a new one to se if it fits the threads 🤔
The only way I can understand this is if you're cropping to a 6x17 RATIO (actually something like 3x9 cm)? Would have been nice to see the original 6x9 before 'cropping' ;-}
I shot a roll of slide film in the mist a week later , can't wait to share that video next week !!!!
It’s always a pleasure to use retro lenses. They really give a fresh perspective for people like us who constantly shoot with new gen gears.
Really enjoyed this, the photograph you got are absolutely beautiful. You have inspired me!!
Your images are great.

Lovely images Austen I really enjoyed the video. The camera looks amazing what a bargain.
Great shoot! Film size is the all important fact! Let's see more!
Some of your best shots. I think the aspect ratio suits your images.
Also an intervalometer will help dialing in odd exposure lengths.

I'm not a fan of the 6x9 ratio so I deliberately composed and cropped with intention
Cheers

How do you focus and ensure that the entire image remains in focus if the lens distance scale is very short?. thanks
Zone focus

Any standard shutter cable will fit , they all the same thread
cheers oz
Are you combining two shots? like one shot aimed to the left then one aimed to the right then put them side by side?
No it's a crop from a 6x9 cm negative

Yes it says in the title of the video the original aspect ratio.
