This is my favourite song on the album. I love how different it is.
I love it so much too!!!! It has a darker more grounded edge to it
It is because Kyle sings it, he possibly sung the best song on the previous album too.

@@DarthSiGi I don't think so. It's not the first song with Kyle's vocals and actually it's not about voice at all but the melody, the style.
Yeah, it might be because Kyle wrote it and it shows how he's changed, grown up and how he feels now. I think there is more Kyle in this song than Matchbox Twenty. I guess he didn't have so much freedom to express himself in the band before. And I'm glad they gave him this chance now and put this song (so much his song) in the tracklist.

Damn..... !! I am huge fan of Kyle's, this is a very strong, powerful song. I love Matchbox Twenty, don't get me wrong, but Kyle, please release more solo work, your voice is absolutely incredible and we need more of it!
Wow! This is a masterpiece in every way. . . Harpsichord-like intro is lovely and delicate in contrast to the rather intense, pushy message of I Know Better . . . but I admit, he had me persuaded after the second verse that he truly adored his lover and that he was going to stand by her and protect her from harm. He had been there before, himself, and HE KNEW BETTER. It would be UNKIND to know better and not do something about it. So a chivalrous hero !! . . I would welcome that and be so grateful. Different tune for Matchbox 20, but different in all the right ways!

@drglinski i didnt know he did lead vox on a few songs until i saw them. I like the Way when i heard it live actually. I dont dislike Kyles voice, its just that Robs distinct voice is one the major reasons for me liking MB20.

This song represents the narcissist's perspective quite well.
What if its the other way around? Sounds like its someone who is trying to tell the truth but wont be believed. Actually, it sounds like the victim of a narc after a smear campaign that isnt being believed. Or it could be someone accused of a crime who is actually innocent.
