  • The vacation video from our cruise on the Carnival Imagination to Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico in January 2016. If you're wondering what the staterooms, ship, and cruise are like this is a must watch video.
    We rented golf carts from Catalina Golf Carts in Avalon. They give you a map showing where you can and cannot drive as well as highlighting the scenic route. We went up to the Wrigley Botanical Garden which is very beautiful and then drove north of Avalon through the hills. Had plenty of time to return the golf cart and find a great spot to eat (The Lobster Shack) before returning to the ship.
    When we arrived in Ensenada we just walked around the town attempting to avoid anyone selling anything (which is impossible). Next time we will definitely do one of the excursions as the town didn't offer much to do besides going to their small but nice history museum.
    As you'll see in the video there is plenty of night life and things to do on the ship itself from blasting down the waterslides to playing miniature golf. There are also shows to see every night and you can go gambling if you prefer.
    I definitely recommend the Imagination. The staff was very nice and the food was better than expected (especially in the main dining room). No complaints.
    Shotwith two GoPros (H3B and H4B) and my Nikon D5500.

    Going on this cruise next March. Thanks for the video. You should try the 7 day Carnival cruise to the Mexican Riviera if you get a chance.

    It is kinda a stupid question, but I hope someone can help me answer...It will be my first time ever on a cruise and my parents have no experience being on one either. Let's say we are not so sure about shore excursion, but want to come down from the cruise ship to see the port. Does the cruise ship leave us there until pick up time? Or can we just come back on the cruise ship any time we want to?

      You can go on and off anytime you want once it's docked and/or anchored. They have schedules so you know exactly where and when you need to be back. Enjoy!

    Love your video! I have a question. Was the price you paid for the cruise per person or per room?

    • @HighOrbitMediaVideos
      @HighOrbitMediaVideos  7 років тому

      Pretty sure it's per room. If you want a balcony the cost is a little steeper. Enjoy!

    Great Video! Was it easy to rent the car/golf cart you used in the video ?

    • @HighOrbitMediaVideos
      @HighOrbitMediaVideos  8 років тому

      Super easy. We made a reservation about a month out. It's basically the first thing you come to when you get off the boat in Avalon.

      I was wondering which place you rented the golf carts from, as there appear to be a couple and how long you rented for. Also, great video! Hitting this cruise in Dec.

      We used Catalina Island Golf Cart. 3 hour rental. Enjoy!

    Great video. I'm going on this exact same cruise at the end of next Jan! How cold was the pool/water park onboard? Cold doesn't bother me but my girlfriend is a wimp haha. Also, did you book your Catalina Island/Ensenada activities through the cruise line or did you do that separately/once you got there? I've never been on a cruise so I'm trying to get as much info as possible. Thanks!!

    • @HighOrbitMediaVideos
      @HighOrbitMediaVideos  7 років тому +1

      Glad you liked it! The water was a bit on the chilly side. I might consider myself a wimp when it comes to cold pools but I was able to get myself in there. There were hot tubs too. We didn't book anything through the cruise line. We did however book golf carts on our own and in Ensenada we just walked around the town. I would recommend doing an excursion in Ensenada though. Book that through the cruise line. That way if you don't come back the boat will wait for you. But please come back. Weather was fine then too. Like high 60's 70's all trip. You'll have a great time.

      nice. what is the wifi situation on the Imagination? I've seen on other reviews where people recommend not paying the daily fee to use the ship's wifi because it's slow and overall not worth it. I guess there's free wifi in some of the cafes and stuff?

    • @HighOrbitMediaVideos
      @HighOrbitMediaVideos  7 років тому

      Yeah, wifi was expensive. I don't think I used it the entire trip. There was so much going on that I never felt like I needed to stare at my phone for an hour. But there is a computer area set up for people who have to use them. I'd plan on just putting your phone on airplane mode the whole trip though.

      @mikeyuncensored 7 років тому

      I only ask because I might have to do some work early in the morning on one or two of the days and I need an internet connection. Do you have to pay to use that computer area? Sorry for all the questions!

    • @HighOrbitMediaVideos
      @HighOrbitMediaVideos  7 років тому

      You know I'm not really that sure. If I remember correctly the wifi was charged by the minute so it can be expensive. Be prepared. You may also be able to find cheaper areas in Catalina. Good luck.

    Hi, my wife and I are going on this same trip next month. What do you recommend doing at Catalina?

    • @HighOrbitMediaVideos
      @HighOrbitMediaVideos  6 років тому

      We rented the golf carts which were a lot of fun. If you want to leave the harbor area I highly suggest renting one of those. There's zip lining there if you want to go nuts be we went to eat fresh lobster instead. I think you get 3-5 hours there before the ship departs. So not a ton of time but you can definitely pack a few things in there. Enjoy.

    How did you take the time lapse video overlooking the lido deck? Did you leave your camera unattended there?

    • @HighOrbitMediaVideos
      @HighOrbitMediaVideos  7 років тому +1

      I just clamped the GoPro to the railing and stood there with it as we left port. It was only about 20 minutes.

    • @HighOrbitMediaVideos

      I'm not sure what that song was. I'd put money on "Wobble" though, haha.

    How much did it cost to rent the golf cart and for how long?

    • @HighOrbitMediaVideos

      I can't think of the price off the top of my head but it was quite affordable. We rented for 3 hours and that was plenty of time.

    does it go by cabo?

    • @HighOrbitMediaVideos
      @HighOrbitMediaVideos  7 років тому

      If you're asking if the boat sailed by Cabo, no it did not because Cabo is almost 1,000 miles south of Ensenada. Also, it's not like we went there and I completely cut it out of the video, haha! So yeah, just Catalina and Ensenada.
