I love the card! God Bless your Gram. I can totally relate to your story. My Gram had a stroke at 90 and it caused her to have Alzheimer's. She lived to be 96, and eventually had to go to a nursing home. I miss her every day of my life. I am an only girl child, as was my mom, so a lot of things fall to me. My mom is now 85 and still pretty feisty and active. She doesn't like that my brothers and I won't let her drive anymore, but we manage to get her wherever she wants to go. Happy Birthday to Eric! Have a wonderful date night and enjoy every minute!

I can truly sympathize with your story. I took care of my grandmother for 5 years to cover her caregivers' days off. The last 2 years she was in a rehab about 5 times. It's true that nursing facilities can be a poor experience but I learned 1 very important lesson...don't pay too much attention to the building, decor, etc. Yes, be sure it's a clean environment, but the most important thing is the staff. After 4 stays for my Gram in a beautiful nursing home ( think expensive spa looking) where I had to hunt down staff to ask questions, get updates on her care, etc I was sure it was the best I could hope for. Her 5th stay was at another facility that she now resides in. It's not nearly as nice to look at but it's clean and the staff is wonderful! They are fully staffed, I can find a CNA, a nurse AND an APRN at all times at the nurses station ( if not in her hall) any time of day or night. She's happy and her care is exceptional. Good facilities with staff that actually care are out there!
brandy barrett I work at a facility that I don’t think has changed decor since they built it in the 50’s, but me and my coworkers love our patients and take very good care of them, your 100% correct looks can be deceiving. Most important things are staffing ratios and how the workers and residents interact.

I love this card! It's masculine, but could be used for anyone. I'm sure Eric will be thrilled with his gift. I agree with you that experiences are better than an actual "gift". My husband's aunt gave us money every year for Christmas and we made it a point to use it, do something that we couldn't usually afford to do, as a family. We would go to Mannheim Steamroller or go see A Christmas Carol at the local community theater or something similar. The kids loved it, as did we, and I found out years after she passed that she appreciated that we did that. Memories are forever. It sounds like you have a wonderful, loving family that takes care of each other. That is truly a blessing and something you will cherish, even more so, years down the road. Thank you for sharing what little time you have in your days, with all of us. I always look forward to your videos (and storytime). I hope your gram and your dad recover quickly. Glad everyone is doing better. Yeah nursing facilities can be rough, but I did surveys and complaints for nursing homes in Georgia for a long time (using both federal and state regulations). There are some that are not as good as others, but most try to do the right things. Don't be afraid to be a squeaky wheel, show up at weird times (try not to have a routine so they don't just provide care at certain times), let them know you expect excellent care, and just be concerned about your grandmother. my mom is a geriatric and i totally get it, I have 9 siblings and some of us are better then others of taking care of mom, but it really does take a village. Kudos to you and yours. Also it makes me grateful that I have had a much easier time of it - we deal with minimal memory loss and luckily no fractures from the two falls she has had. You usually inspire me with your cards, and though this card was totally wonderful, I was more inspired by your story and just a little ashamed I sometimes feel sorry for myself. Thank you! First let me say that you're card is completely amazing. I love everything about this. Hubby plays guitar and will travel to any Van Halen or Bon Jovi concert near or far. lol. I'm so sorry about your Grams. My mother in law is 81 and fell on Feb 4th and also broke her Pelvis. She was in the hospital for 4 days and has been in a rehab ever since. It's been a slow process and she still isn't able to walk but praying that the physical and occupational therapy start to help soon. Praying for a quick recovery for your Grams as well and for your family as I know first hand that this is hard for your family as well.

Great card. I sympathize with your family’s experience wit your grandmother’s memory loss and mobility problems. My mom has that too. They live 800 miles away so I often get calls that she has fallen and gone to the hospital. She is in an assisted living space with my 96 yo father.
Totally understandable why there hasn’t been a video. It just makes us appreciate you more when there is one. So sorry to hear about the family issues, but it is good to hear that you and your 2 plus 1 sisters are there to help your mom and dad out. I am sure they really appreciate it. Take care and if we have to wait for a while for your videos we know it is because you are taking care of something much more important, your family.

Love this card. It is perfect for my musician son who plays both the piano and guitar.
First let me say that you're card is completely amazing. I love everything about this. Hubby plays guitar and will travel to any Van Halen or Bon Jovi concert near or far. lol. I'm so sorry about your Grams. My mother in law is 81 and fell on Feb 4th and also broke her Pelvis. She was in the hospital for 4 days and has been in a rehab ever since. It's been a slow process and she still isn't able to walk but praying that the physical and occupational therapy start to help soon. Praying for a quick recovery for your Grams as well and for your family as I know first hand that this is hard for your family as well.
I hope your mother-in-law heals quick. Sending prayers!

I love this card so much and actually ordered the stamps and dies! My kids are very musical so this is a must need set! On the other note.... I’m exhausted from your story! Dang ! Poor lil Gram, poor Auntie, poor mom, poor dad, poor you.... what a lot! But you all came together and that’s family! I hope all are doing better and your mom can stop worrying. Great card. I sympathize with your family’s experience wit your grandmother’s memory loss and mobility problems. My mom has that too. They live 800 miles away so I often get calls that she has fallen and gone to the hospital. She is in an assisted living space with my 96 yo father.

Totally understandable why there hasn’t been a video. It just makes us appreciate you more when there is one. So sorry to hear about the family issues, but it is good to hear that you and your 2 plus 1 sisters are there to help your mom and dad out. I am sure they really appreciate it. Take care and if we have to wait for a while for your videos we know it is because you are taking care of something much more important, your family.

Gosh, I got so absorbed in your story that I didn't even notice you weren't going into detail about the card project though it seemed easy enough to follow what you were doing; we just weren't getting your thought process on the why of the creating.
