I have now been in hobby for 22 months. Start when I was 16 now 18 and have now tore down my old beginning tank now have a new and one and doing everything I would have done first now.
Would you be able to share the methodology, based on your research, what companies have been using for their end points? In my case, I use a Hanna Checker as well as Focustronic's Mastertronic. I'm not sure if that information is readily available.
Sorry, we cannot speak on behalf of those companies. The best thing to do would be for the customer or consumer to reach out to those companies and ask them about their methodology.
I’m confused: the X10 has a built in Alkalinity tester? I thought it was just a controller with four dosing pumps. Does it have a sensor for testing Alk too?
The Control X10 is a very robust controller and can be used in several different applications. The most popular will be the alk and testing which requires the X10 pH probe and three of the four dosers. Combined with the HYDROS iV you can do isolated testing of pH, alkalinity, and salinity.
@@CoralVueTV yeah, but why can’t it be programmed to skip alkalinity and simply test ph and salinity. My alk test is too inconsistent despite several strategies to minimize bubbles. The alk test is becoming useless
Thank you for your comment. We appreciate your suggestion regarding the ability to test pH and Salinity separately and we would like to inform you that it is already on our list of features to add. We cannot provide an exact date for the release of the update, but we assure you that it will be included in a future one.@@imCXS-zh2yt
The titration curve for carbonate measurements has an S-shape. Why doesn't the titrator utilize the inflection point of the curve as the equivalence point of the titration?
Thank you for your comment. We want to assure you that we are using recognized standard methods for our testing, including the one that is recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) here in the US. This method was developed by the Acid Rain Monitoring Project of the University of Massachusetts Water Resources Research Center. If you have any documentation or links to suggest regarding your testing method, please feel free to share them with us. We will be happy to consider them.
Great discussion! Thanks gentlemen!
Glad you enjoyed it.

@@CoralVueTV ah, ok. That’s awesome! I have my on preorder at my LFS.
How do I perform a sampled ph/salinity without alkaline testing? The setup doesn’t allow to turn this off
This cannot be achieved through isolated testing but is easily accomplished if the probes are used outside of isolation.

Is there a build link for the setup behind you guys?
Sorry, there is no build thread for Richard's Tank.
We need a video from richard’s tank!
