      Thank you for writing in.
      A group of people, the easterners, came together and decided to withdraw from the membership of the Nigerian federation. The Republic of Biafra was formed and the state declared its independence/separation from Nigeria in 1967. This was the beginning of the war.
      The Nigerian-Biafran war started on 6, July 1967, and came to an end on January15, 1970. It was a civil war fought between the federal government of Nigeria with Yakubu Gowon as the head of state, and the Republic of Biafra with Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu acting as the leader of the breakaway Republic of Biafra. This was a war between the Northerners and the Easterners. During the war, the United Kingdom and Russia supported the federal government while France and Isreal supported the Biafrans.
      One important thing to note about the Nigerian civil war is the immediate cause of the war. On January 15, 1996, a group of military officers, most of which were from the Igbo ethnic group (Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, Emmanuel Ifeajuna, Chris Anuforo, Don Okafor, Humphrey Chukwuka, Timothy Onwuatuegwu, and Ademola Ademoyega), plotted a coup and overthrew Nigeria's first democratic government where some of the Northern leaders were killed e.g Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and Sir Ahmadu Bello. Their reason for the coup was the alleged corruption among public officials, the government's failure to ensure equitable distribution of economic resources, and several other reasons.
      Following this coup were the mass killings of the Igbos in the North by Northerners. Due to the killings of the Igbos, the governor of the Eastern region, Ojukwu, asked non-easterners living in the east to leave and at the same time, asked all the Igbos living in other parts of the country to return home.
      I hope this is helpful.

    Hello thanks for the great video ❤
    In question 6 you mentioned the code of conduct bureau, please is the same as code of conduct tribunal? I once saw code of conduct tribunal in past questions so I'd like to know if they are the same

    • @MyschoolNigeria
      @MyschoolNigeria  7 місяців тому

      The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) are related entities, but they serve different functions within the legal system of certain countries, notably Nigeria.
      *Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB): The Code of Conduct Bureau is a government agency responsible for ensuring public officers' compliance with the provisions of the Code of Conduct for public officers. It is tasked with the responsibility of receiving asset declarations from public officers, verifying assets declared, and ensuring compliance with the provisions of the code. The CCB operates at the federal and state levels in Nigeria.
      *Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT): The Code of Conduct Tribunal is a quasi-judicial body established by the Constitution of Nigeria to try public officers for breaches of the Code of Conduct. It has the authority to hear cases brought against public officers by the Code of Conduct Bureau for violations of the Code of Conduct for public officers.
      In summary, while both the Code of Conduct Bureau and the Code of Conduct Tribunal are involved in ensuring public officers' adherence to ethical standards, the CCB primarily focuses on receiving asset declarations and ensuring compliance, while the CCT handles the adjudication of cases related to breaches of the code.

    Is regimen also administrative

    • @MyschoolNigeria
      @MyschoolNigeria  2 роки тому

      Most of the English words have denotative meaning (primary) and connotative meaning (suggested). The primary meaning for regimen is a prescribed curse of medical treatment while the suggested meaning is a system of Government. Therefore, regimen can be used to mean administration.
