    I had a root canal done a few years ago so this was very interesting to see from the Doctor's standpoint. My endodontist was amazing. I was very nervous going into the procedure, but he made sure that everything was done with care, and perfection. Truly an awesome field of medicine.

    I'm a retired dentist. I used to restore over the Gutta Percha with "snow" white opaque flowable resin. Easy to apply, easy to see on a radiograph, and then if pretreatment is ever required, it will be super easy for the next dentist (or me) to find their way back into the canals. Final restoration is of course tooth coloured.

    I've always wondered if its alright to use naocl or saline or water to clean the chamber right after obturation with the gp exposed. Idk why i always felt like the water would seep into the canals and ruin the prognosis, and that i dried them for no reason in the first place.
    But time to time i see dentists use water right dorectly after obturation right on the gp.
    Would love someone to comment on this matter.

    Great video Dr Afiq!!! What is the intracanal medicament used, is it necessary to place ledermix in irreversible pulpitis case? And what is the advantage of warm vertical compaction compared to cold lateral compaction?

    • @samarm5760
      @samarm5760 2 роки тому +4

      For ICM we usually use calcium hydroxide but I don’t think dr Afiq used any ICM in this vid . Regarding the second question the advantage of warm vertical compaction is that its give u the ability to adapt warm and softened GP to the irregular surfaces of root canal walls . Usually cold lateral compaction is superior to warm vertical compaction ☺️

    • @jm2340
      @jm2340 7 місяців тому

      If I'm not mistaken, warm vertical compaction is superior in that it helps seal the lateral canals as well if there are any. When the gp is warmed and then compacted, the warm gp flows into the irregularities or lateral canals sealing them. With cold lateral comdesation, that barely happens, unless some sealer flows into them.
      Why did you say cold lateral is better though friend?
