  • Today we’re looking at the Rode NT2a, a very popular multi pattern, large diaphragm condenser microphone. This mic offers a very detailed and articulate sound, with a pleasing and smooth mid range. The mic is very unforgiving if you’re in a poorly treated room or have lots of background noise.

    Your problem is that you can't stop buying microphones but we really can't stop coming back to your channel and keep watching all of your old and new videos. Seriously, awesome work, if it weren't for you, the love of searching for the best audio (microphone and/or interface) wouldn't be a thing at all. The time and efforts you put into your videos to deliver all the details and your honest thoughts about everything you review is greatly appreciated. Loved all the jokes on this one. Thanks a lot man!

    I think it sounds quite nice. Your comparisons are well done and well-thought-out; thank you. I'm a fan of the NT1, although after hearing the NT2-A, I'm wondering if it might be the best of both worlds. Hrm. Either way, like yourself, I buy more microphones than I ever actually intend to use. If I could only ever have one microphone, it would probably be just a $30 lav mic, lol.

    QUESTION: U always do a fantastic job analysing all those microphones. What would u chose between the Nt2a and the wa 87?? I’m a singer in a music university. It’s mostly for recording my voice, but also any sources. I had a c414 xl II and found it a little bit agressive in the high frequencies. 😅

    I think this one and the NT1 are the best Rode condenser mics from the company. The NT2-A is very versatile and the NT1 is such a standout smooth boy. I own the NT1 and it's just so natural sounding and smooth.

  • @CenturyOfCid
    @CenturyOfCid 3 роки тому +6

    Fun fact: The original Rode NT2 looked so much like a Neumann U87 that Neuman sued them and forced them to change the design. Neumann has recently done the same to Warm Audio, now the WA87 R2 looks like a Behringer mic

    Hello, very good, thanks for your videos, I have a great doubt to buy a mic and I see that you have experience in these ... nt1 (black) vs nt2a ... I do not care about the polar patterns, I will only use cardioid, but strictly adjusting to the sound quality which you see best

    Nice video. Sir, Can you suggest me a microphone in this budget that rejects back ground noise. I am looking one for recording Classical guitar. and my rented apartment is not acoustically treated. I already have a Behringer B2 pro Mic which I bought second hand (used). Good for steel string, but not great for classical guitar.

    Hola, muy buenas, gracias por tus videos, tengo una gran duda para comprar un mic y veo que tienes experiencia en estos... nt1 (negro) vs nt2a... me da igual los patrones polares , solo usare cardioide, pero extrictamente ajustandose a la calidad de sonido cual ves mejor

    • @datalix3849
      @datalix3849 2 роки тому

      No soy podcastage pero desde mi punto de vista el nt2a gana pero por muy poco a decir verdad es muy dificil escuchar la diferencia entre el nt2a y el nt1 pero en verdad lo mas importante al elegir el microfono no es solo elegir la calidad de sonido si no para que lo vas a usar y en que ambiente, si es un normal y no esta cuidado te recomiendo por mucho el rode nt1 ya que es mucho mas silencioso y tiene una calidad casi igual o muy igual al nt2 a pero si estas en un ambiente bastante cuidado o un ambiente de estudio te recomiendo el nt2a ya que tiene una ligera mejor calidad sobre el nt1 y es mas flexible en sonido, pero yo tendria que elegir uno seria el nt1 por el precio, ya que no hay mucha diferencia de sonido, practicamente ni se nota. Así que bueno yo eligiria ese y viendo que solo quieres uno que sea cardioide mas te recomiendo el nt1 mas barato y la calidad es casi identica. Tambien se me olvido añadir de que el microfono que eligas tambien depende de tu voz, si tienes una voz poco grave te recomiendo el Shure pga27 que aunque no esta en esta lista te recomiendo ver, esta en un rango de precio igual al del shure nt1. Si tienes una voz grave o no tan grave te recomiendo el nt1 se te va escuchar muy bien, y si tienes una voz grave el nt2a pero el nt2a creo que es compatible con mas voces pero igual no lo recomiendo mucho por el precio, solo si estas en un ambiente muy tratado.

    I have the NT1 and use it for voice over, mainly for long-form projects like audiobooks/narration. But the NT2-A seems to have a little more personality for lower voices with the smoother air frequencies (better than the NT1-A) and clearer, more stable sounding lows.
    The NT1 is a great mic but it doesn’t quite have the “ass” that the NT2-A can produce.
