In 2012, I had a Javelin that I threw an E-flite micro brushed motor/single cell in. Five minutes later, it went out of sight. Ngl, it’s probably still up there somewhere.
I have the Lancer Kit ,but I must built it. When I was a little boy ,my father bought me from the same factory the rubber powerd model „ Sleek Streek“. It flew wonderful! The Model had a wingspan(?) over 30 cm.It was made all over from Balsa printed with red marks (?). You see,its difficult to subscribe, but i have the wish to say: Your videos are wonderful! Greetings from South Germany/Bavaria
Cool FF tool box with the stooge built into the top. What were you looking at over your shoulder @time 4:17? "we don't have long before that thermal gets here?" Looked like you launched right into a pretty strong one. Good video.
I was watching vultures circling and behavior of treetops. Wind generally blows toward the thermal. Also you can tell how close the thermal is by seeing if the treetops are laying down upwind of you.
So you have a thermometer on a stick but I don't understand how that helps locate a thermal or determin when to launch? Noticed you added a few good luck winds with your finger before putting the nose back on. The down side of FF is locating fly away's (if ever) and then climbing the tree to get the model back.
Thermals are hot, so if you put a temperature probe at least 10' up you can start picking up the rise in temperature to better center into the thermal.
Wondering if you've experimented with a turbulator on this model? I realize there are turbulator spars, but that's a thick airfoil with a narrow chord, and I wonder if it doesn't need more?

That sounds awesome!
All of those magnetic trees Josh ! lovely looking model.
3:56 "its no longer indicating" is scientist for its broken Jenny. ha excellent flights sir keep up the good work!
Nice flying, its always a great feeling to get a good set of flights in right before the weather turns.
White model against white cloud background is hard to track. Need some obnoxious orange to help us see the model. ;)
I would have covered it in Orange Esaki, but wanted to use the materials in the kit as much as possible.
@@joshuawfinn LOL. Orange Japanese tissue is "obnoxious" enough for me!
Great group of videos

Glad you enjoyed it. Please let me know when you build your Guillow's kit!

Tough flying conditions. Good job.
Thanks for the great content!!

That thing goes Lickety-split!
Wich one is better javelin or the lancer for a first time beginner?
great.....
oh my left ear, it's satis-flying.
Do you have any thoughts on bilding a Comet sparky on yor channel? If you can find the plans that is
I need to do one of those eventually. In the meantime, short kit from Jim O'Reilly and prop from Volare and you'll have a sweet airplane.
Yours flew a lot longer than the one I built when I was in Junior high. Mine was blue and yellow, though.
Yeah I don't like the colors on this one but wanted to use the tissue in the kit. It's a good flier though!
fly so fast!
ahahaha where do you get the bubble machine
It's from Walmart I think. They're pretty cheap too.
Amazing flights! Congratulations! how motor was used? I thing is some 1/16 many strands...
I used 4 strands of 1/8, twice the hook to peg distance, braided to take up the slack.
@@joshuawfinn tks for answer! a nice choice to the motor!
muito bom valeu
I am surprised that the structure, as designed, can handle two loops of 1/8 th.
how many twists did you have on the first launch you have in the video? I had a single loops of 1/4 rubber. Might switch the plane to 1/8th?
I didn't count but I wound it hard. Two loops of 1/8 or 1 loop of 1/4 seems to work quite well.
