And on the other hand I have a valid work permit but can she do the same thing? To get a depend work permit on the US-Canada border that you and your family did? U can find their helpline number online..easily...yes primary applicant must be with spouse ..
U went to peace bridge on what day as online its showing that they only give work permit from Tuesday to Thursday.
I think it's open 24/7 and all days..but they don't accept more applications after they reached their capacity in a day..so reach as early as possible

In my case my dependent is in working age so I could change from visitor to work visa ..can't say about ur case...bit there is no harm to go with her..immigration officer will suggest u right way..don't wry be positive..all d best

Open work permit is better..u can change ur job anytime if doesn't suit with employer..
