"If we could sell something to do with mock scrapes, we would sell it" That honest and ethical statement right there explains Jeff, his business and this channel very clearly.
It legitimately changed my entire private land experience. Had a trail intersection in the woods on the other side of a small hill that couldn't support a stand and had no realistic place to set a blind up. 60ft East? Amazing, but they don't use that side. Added the mock scrape setup and BAM in a month they totally forgot about the old intersection and literally started using the new one the vast majority of the time. It's the best setup I've got now, and all it cost me was some time and a section of Paracord. Never would have learned that without this channel.
Such a powerful tool Jeff, it's a great feeling putting one up and getting footage of deer using it.. Thank you for continuing to give us great vidoes.. Team WHS for the win!!
I love putting out mock scrapes on all stand locations. Great way to know which stand to focus on during hunting season with a cam on them for sure! We put 6 out on a 180 acre lease and feel like we have it well covered given the lay of the land. Really enjoy watching your videos every week Jeff!
I’m back! This topic comes up right when I put out my summer cameras! Every year I put up a couple new ones or fix ones that have been broken. Last year I had one up 20 yards from now range and come my first sit a buck hit a scrape and licking branch on the tree that my stand was in!😂 One day I will get it right
Ropes? Fraid Not! I have 6 vine mock scrapes, all doing what they are supposed to. Some started being used within a day of putting them out. Good job, Team WHS! And thanks. Oh yea..got drawn finally for area 51 bear hunt up there in Minnesota. Can't wait. It's been 18 years since I've been up there in your neighborhood.
I put one on a hanging tree that blew over but got hung up in another tree and was directly over a heavy deer trail. I had to use a ladder to reach it. Now there is a big dished out scrape under it
If there's anybody out there that's think this doesn't works !!!! I am telling u this is way better than anything you can buy from a sporting goods store. It works omg dose it work that's all I can say !!!!
Hi Ron....it works very well! Logan O'Brien from WI. He just graduated from high school and his mom bought him the ticket for a gift 😊 Pretty dang cool!
How long should I leave them out before putting a new fresh vine in there? I’ve had some up for a couple years now and wonder if I should put a fresh one in sometime soon!
Years ago I started using a piece of hemp rope, Im amazed at how many pictures I get all year long, of bucks and does. I use scent on the rope during the season, and it retains the scent for the rest of the year. But now I’m going to try a vine…😂
Question I made a mock scrape roughly 30 yards from my ground blind I also placed attractants next to to scrape licking block and molasses is that a good idea or no?
In your settings you have to set your pics to the highest megapixels and the video to full HD. If they are older models you can find out how to change the firmware to get 1080HD. The oldest models you can't change...the really old ones...they are stuck at 720. You shouldn't be getting too blurry of pics or vids tho, regardless. We do really well with trail cams on mock scrapes and waterholes where deer are moving much less and nearly stationary. That helps too!
@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 yeah, they are brand new pro x 2's. They are set on highest mp setting and 1080 video. I'll have to contact them. Thanks for the response.
I've tried mock scrapes on my place in west Texas several times. Never had a deer touch one. Wondering if I'm doing something wrong? Of course I've owned this place for 16 years and never seen a real scrape or a rub. Plenty of bucks around.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. I've had a mock scrape up for a year now and the deer won't touch it. I've followed Jeff's advice. It's a 6ft long vine hanging about waist high from a tree.
I've tried this on a lot of different places but couldn't get deer to use it more than a few times after I put it up and yes I tried to be scent free as I could ???
Morning Jeff! I've got 2 different properties 1 with 80 acres and 1 with 150. On 80 acres I've got 2 vine mock scrapes and on the 150 I have 4 vine mock scrapes. **Have you ever put a vine on an already established scrape and seen any change in activity either good or bad? I've got a big community scrape on the 80 acres farm, and was thinking about putting a vine on it.
Man ..great question...sure have! On an apple tree more random scrape. Add a mock vine scrape and then an INSTANT, consistently heavy draw. You just make it look like it's coming thru the branches
Ive never did mock scrapes before but looks like a good tactic. You said u should have one at every stand or blind location. What if there is already a scrape at those locations that are made buy deer instead lf man
Good question! The mock scrapes lik this last indefinitely and actually attract more deer ..does and fawns too! They are much more powerful than a natural scrape

Yes Sir, I have been using your grapevine mock scrape concepts for years. As good as it gets. Thanks Jeff.
So enjoyable Cris, hope you are having a great summer!
These mock scrapes might be the best thing I've learned from you!

Nice to have pre deer camp rampen up.
It sure is Nathan!
Thanks Jeff
You are very welcome!

Thanks a lot JJ, we appreciate you! They are so much dang fun!

Thanks Peter...I bet you have it very covered!! A great tool for sure...
Jeff showed me the "vine" back in 2012 when he visited my property... Still using them!
I’m back!

Haha...love it Tim! No gimmicks zone 😁
Best idea ever!! They work fantastic!!
So dang rewarding Brian!
I put one on a hanging tree that blew over but got hung up in another tree and was directly over a heavy deer trail. I had to use a ladder to reach it. Now there is a big dished out scrape under it
That's awesome Alan!

It is pretty amazing Charles! Folks try to sell stuff around it but nothing beats FREE in this case 👍
The anchor man edit in this video makes it even more epic!!! lol classic
😁 I hope some of you got a good laugh from it!
Need to look up Huntington Outdoor Gear keep ur Reveal antennas straight up 👍
They work the same either way...AND the new reveal antenas fasten in the downward position 😉
Great Video Jeff!
Total Game Changer 🇨🇦
Thanks Carlo! So dang rewarding too...
I wish I would’ve come across this info 6 months ago! I’ll be ready next season haha
Put up a natural vine right over the trail next to the water hole in front of my main bow stand, they love it!
I do use vines successfully on my property. I do find that rubbing "evercalm" on the vines seem to add to the deers curiosity and usage.
Thanks as always Jeff. When are the WHS hoodies coming out?
You are very welcome and SOON 😊
So you recommend just the Vine no added scent or anything?
Absolutely no scent. Ever.
Thank you!
Vine through an existing tree branch... great tip!
Who won the KB Hunt ?
Hi Ron....it works very well!
Logan O'Brien from WI. He just graduated from high school and his mom bought him the ticket for a gift 😊 Pretty dang cool!

I do not change them until they break. Iv had some last year's for 5 years +
My deer hit it hard when I first put it up but haven't hit it much since fawning season started. Is thst normal?
Hi Nathan! They seem to be locked into very tiny summer patterns right now and don't move much. I wouldn't worry at all 😊
Getting doe and fawn hitting my vines in last couple of days
Pretty cool...the more scent the better 👍😊
Years ago I started using a piece of hemp rope, Im amazed at how many pictures I get all year long, of bucks and does. I use scent on the rope during the season, and it retains the scent for the rest of the year.
But now I’m going to try a vine…😂
I would definitely try them! 100% better hit rate than a rope...
I went out yesterday after watching this and swapped the rope for a vine…..😊
Since I don't have oak or jack pine I'm thinking maybe an apple branch would be my best option?
Probably a very good option!
Question I made a mock scrape roughly 30 yards from my ground blind I also placed attractants next to to scrape licking block and molasses is that a good idea or no?
How do you get your tactacam to take such clear video? Mine only takes blurry pics...lol

How do you have no mosquitoes in the woods? I was out this morning and it was not enjoyable 😂
No standing water in these hills...it is awesome 😊
Put one up on a new cleared trail and it was hit that evening by 3 difft deer.
Got to love it!
How much Sex Panther do you add per rope to make it formidable?
🤣
😁🦌
First
Yes sir!
