What a fabulous speaker system. I love to see innovation, science and art merged so masterfully into a product of this caliber. The fact that they manufacture everything in house cannot be overstated. Thanks for having this gentleman over for such an in-depth discussion of a speaker system that I hope to one day hear in person.

In my experience, isobaric loading does sound different from sealed and reflex loading. It gives up some bass "slam" but gains transient fidelity, more precise rendering of the starts and stops of notes, greater articulation, and improved pitch definition. It's more subtle sounding, but rewarding in its own way.

@epi2045 When using large diameter drivers, it is nearly impossible to provide a smooth and even/constant directivity throughout the full frequency spectrum due to the physics of "beaming." Using large, efficient drivers usually does wonders for Dynamics when designed well, but imaging and soundstage will most likely suffer (especially depth, layering, and pinpoint image focus that doesn't also shift/drift dependent on frequency.) There are tradeoffs and compromises with every design, and the best performance from any one design can be highly dependent on the physical properties of the listening room and your listening position within it.
@@bbfoto7248 Not so fast. Using language to justify smaller drivers is easy. However it comes down to listening. I have owned several audiophile level narrow towers with 5”-7”, so I’ve been there. There’s resounding reasons why most of the legendary flagship speakers use larger diameter drivers. My current main speakers have separate 10” bass cabinets and adjustable mid and high drivers in another cabinet. The only reason why I had towers with smaller drivers in the past was due to my ex-wife’s low WAF. My new and improved fiancée is indifferent hence I am back to bigger speakers with no compromise in the looks and size department.

Great speakers! I thoroughly enjoyed them at the 2023 AXPONA show.
These types of videos are great to watch. Many thanks for sharing and looking forward to the review.
Would love to hear the updated version of the infrasonic generator.

Isobaric loading means you only need half the cabinet volume

Yep.
But half the efficiency, half the impedance, so requires a beefy power amplifier!
How many db's are sacrificed with this particular isobaric loading?
I believe it's -6db.

For all those British ‘audiophiles’ that believe a B&W D series is the ultimate - the Bentley has just come flying past your Jaguar.

No true audiophiles here rates the B&W D series. Terrible speakers

When I see narrow speakers… I lose interest. Stacking 6-7” drivers, isobaric or not, doesn’t have the same qualities of 10-15” drivers.
