@@MoneyPurse it was very useful and I can relate to one of the incident where I was able to eat only Maggi(no other food due to heavy vomtings) in 2017 when I was Pregnant.Doctor used to say stop eating Maggi as its banned and came again.
There is one part FROM 43:08 to 44:20 minutes, where he mentions about Technical Director of the Nestle India Factory branch reporting directly on technical matters to Switzerland Head Office, so that the local factory officials do not get involved in cost-cutting measures and compromise on food quality and safety. I LOVED THIS POINT. Let me explain the gravity of this point. Remember, India had gone through Bhopal Gas Tragedy in Dec. 1984 - the worst industrial disaster where poisonous gas leaked and the whole city inhaled it to death. One of the reasons of gas leakage was that the factory maintenance matters were under the purview of the local management who ignored technical directives on replacing corroding gas pipes and maintaining cool temperature by using air-conditioners running 24-hours at the gas storage tank site. The local factory management saw this as excess expenditure. They resorted to cost-cutting. Sadly, this cost-cutting had to be repaid in human lives. I hope just like in Engineering, management professionals are also taught this lesson: "SAFETY FIRST. Profits next." Ironically, Union Carbide (the global company, whose India plant in Bhopal met with the disaster) had chosen India to set-up a factory as it offered lower cost of operational cost compared to its other factories worldwide. There was no need to do cost-cutting by the local management!!!
This is not at all true. Everything is manageable at nestle. At least in india. All this company is good at is putting paperwork and procedures but those are only good if being followed. I have worked across several locations and we have been asked to either overlook or compromize on the some of the important quality processes time and again.
Thanks IIMA for broadcasting this video and immense thanks to Mr Suresh Narayan narrating the entire issue with multiple learning points with live examples. Great service to Humanity by You. Kudos to you
A real life insights seen and felt by everyone ... Not everyone get a chance to deal such cases so successfully ... thank you for such a awesome session 👍
I am proud to say that I eat maggi atleast once every week here in canada and also I work for Nestle Canada as Production Team Leader. This also inspired me a lot interms of leadership.
In India were riots and muder cases take decades to get final verdict. A MNC got continuous hearing for 3 months to settle the case ,secondly backing of a politician belonging to one of most corrupt political family class and new chairman of food regulatory. Your ppt speaks volume about case and it fixes done to gain re-entry into market. Corporate and political nexus. Don't tell u r saint.
Well, whether there was msg or not that's a different issue but at least this case proves what an Indian entrepreneur like Baba Ramdev can do if they decide to. I have not seen any other Indian giving this giant company a big blow like this. Inspiring but from the opposite angle.
Thank you IIMA for putting this in you tube. Keep doing and sharing these type programme of to all those who want to hear and learn more 'Straight From The Horse Mouth'...
He says if he were to die that very moment he would die with contentment, how many of us can say something like that? Seems IIMA crowd did not fathom the depth of those words
I can see many comments, where people relating Maggi and this speech very personally... You guys sold to this idiot in the video. He had seen Maggi as a money maker and revenue generator, he never took it personally and I can assure you he would have never eaten Maggi without compulsion.

Everyone can't be perfect at everything.
That is when he was referring to the past beliefs of marketers... he personally didn’t called madrassi
