  • This is exactly how much money I earn working in the UK, but is it enough?..
    I’m still temporarily in the UK, my hiatus from life in thailand and my beautiful off grid farm.
    Join me on my Thailand adventure as I attempt to create a fruit farm on five acres of land, build a house, dig a well for my own water source and install solar panels to become completely off grid!
    Watch me generally fumble my way through every process, trying to keep positive and upbeat throughout 🧘‍♂️

    I bet you’re missing the Thai sunshine. Rainy season has finally arrived in Isaan and the vegetation is becoming lush and green again. The mornings are refreshing for the morning coffee but very humid in the afternoon.

    Looks delicious! What a lovely dog. Have a great Saturday Ben. I was UK for a year & did me the world of good. Connected with relatives & friends, but realised my home is here with family. Sadly UK is a country in pieces, but the friendly ness is still there & sense of humour. Swedes have a superior attitude, but Covid changed many. Normally if you said Good Morning they would think you’re either on drugs or drunk! I have a contest every morning to see how many say Morning back. Found if you say twice they seem to hear you & reply. Sounds crazy doesn’t it. 😂😂😂💕

    I'd recommend stretching your hamstrings, at least 60 seconds apiece. Stand at the bottom of a flight of stairs, and raise up one leg so it's parallel to the ground and rest on the stair. Touch your toe and hold. Does wonders for preventing low back pain. Do it a few times a day. Gets me through 12 hour shifts. Enjoyed the video...

      It all depends at what age/stage you adopt this approach, how you've lived your life financially upto that point, if you've property you can rent & how frugal you've been/what you've earned.
      Either way, most can do this to fund their time in Thailand for the foreseeable future...the only issue I see is the lack of N.I contributions built up to make a full pension, on a pension claim date...This said it's frozen at point if living in Thailand anyhow, hopefully that changes.
      Ideally, it's to work enough & save/invest in the UK, before moving to Thailand & have zero financial restraints.
      But then some prime years have past...this is my case.
      It swings & roundabouts, but there's one thing for certain...enough funding is required whatever way it's done.

  • @Tra980
    @Tra980 Місяць тому

    Is your plan to make about $20k in one trip per year and live off of that in Thailand the rest of the year? You mentioned a property in Spain, how much could that bring in yearly in rental fees? Sounds like a good plan, but it must be difficult to be away from your wife for that long. At least with technology you can FaceTime whenever you want.

    • @LifeinThailand777
      @LifeinThailand777  Місяць тому

      About that, we still have 2 years left on the mortgage on the Spain house, and so any rental income currently only covers the bank payments. The mortgage is £12k per year, roughy similar to the rental amount we receive each year. So once the mortgage is paid off, that should be about £12k per year income. Yes it’s hard being away but it’s not the end of the world. Only a few months 🙏
