- This is the last video package for 2009. In this package you will find the normal mix of BNSF, UP, and Amtrak traffic. Two new items you will find in this video. First some footage from Vancouvers Amtrak Station. Second is a night shot from Kalama, Washington.
A superb compilation of excellent sequences...Thanks for sharing...5* Bob

Very well done ;)
@maineboy1979 reckon that is the pneumatics of the brake pressure being applied and released, Sound is very similar to our passenger trains In the UK. The brakes are applied to each car from the car's own brake pressure reservoir, the degree of pressure being controlled by the driver and electronic gizzmos and anti-brake-lock (wheel skid) systems etc, plus fail safe system should the cars separate
My estimation would be a half mile for the Amtrak, and at least a mile to 1 and 1/4 miles for the freight trains.
cool vid 5 stars and a fav
konkretne te pociagi
Best I can tell that was the trains braking system.
In response to KINGANDCASTLE:
I was on the northbound Coast Starlight a couple years ago when we hit a vehicle at a crossing near Santa Clara at about 80mph. It took close to a half mile to stop. Yes, it was fatal.
Excelente. five stars
Great video - the containers that are piggy-backed - do you know if they are bolted together or do they rely on the weight of the container from falling off round bends? In the UK our very restrictive loading gauge does not permit piggy-backing we had an incident admittedly the containers were empty but severe winds blew three containers off a freight train - the containers locate on to lugs of the transporters
Fantastico video, 5*
this year 2010 is the centennial year of the creation of the Canadian Navy so we look forwards to you making a suitable video, eh? :)
Great video. 5*****

Great video!!!
5*
Nice video. Keep it up in 2010.
Awesome, now thats a freight system ;)
I saw a vid from a trainspotter guy in the UK and not only did he call out the numbers of the locos but he also did it for each and every freight car...now I can understand locos but freight cars? that's a bit too much,...btw, nice video here :)
Great mix of thaffic. How many passenger trains call at Kelso station each day where they are from and going to if you know this?
very, very cool, 5 *
Big trains, great. I'm know its only from MSTS
How long would it take for a train like that to brake to a halt in an emergency?
@FE511bhs All told if I did not edited the footage there would have been about 45 minutes worth of footage.
nice vids mate, could do with a bit more thrash though
