@@magic_cfw boston dynamics designs obviously have no real practical sense in an urban setting for the purpose of help, they're obviously made for war, I mean I'm pretty sure they tried to get big dogs to carry stuff in Afghanistan but it just didn't work out, don't remember why I think it was it's tracking not being adequate. They upload videos under the premise of being cool and are uncomfortably silent when everyone in the comments accurately points out that the things their robots do are just traits that would be helpful for a super soldier, like extreme balance and maneuverability and damage resistance. There's this cultural idea that scientists create inherently good things and are implicitly interested in the greater good and serving the public, which is obviously false if you have even elementary history knowledge. If a scientist can create a nuke then they can create a robot soldier and while that sounds ridiculous now, it isn't when you watch robot tech demonstrations that have an obvious unstated point.
@@christopherrapczynski204 They were too noisy. As for robot soldiers. Wont be a thing for at least 40+ years. The ones like terminator i mean. Something non humanoid like the dog can be made now its just too loud for anything but frontlines and thats silly.

In my opinion, the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics are currently experiencing unprecedented progresses. Only this year, I read about an algorithm called GPT-2 which was trained on roughly 8 million web pages to write a fictional scientific article about the discovery of unicorns. I would really love to make a video about this but if you have time, read the article online it's amazing (it says for example "The scientist named the population, after their distinctive horn, Ovid’s Unicorn. These four-horned, silver-white unicorns were previously unknown to science”)! Although I'm not an expert in AI, feel free to ask anything about the human body or stem cells, since I am conducting research there!
I'd imagine pretty soon they'll be designed to be capable to process, modify, formulate or even possibly invent future projects in the fields of science, astronomy, biology and even robotics, imagine robots constantly making small tweaks and changes to improve processes and advancements in everything. Prob not anytime soon since often new tech takes a while to integrate. It'll be a crazy world!

Do make a video on it. That being said, AI is currently being used in war such as in the case of the Kawasaki P1 which has the ability to designate targets on its own. Infact there are patents on AI software specifically for combat use stemming from the 70s. Do look it up, thank me in a video!

hank, that was really impressive! also, I'm happy about the skin thing. I like the idea of being able to integrate active, sensitive machinery into the PNS to feed info back to the CNS for natural sensory processing for a limb that has been lost. There are so many wonderful advancements to come!

Even the human body has a problem processing severe pain from two different locations. As an EMT I can remember a couple calls with people with several severe injuries and were only feeling severe pain from one injury. Not sure if that's a processing problem or survival instinct.
