They are our neighbors. And one thing to note also, many Bangladeshi players looked out of shape in the field. I saw the game highlights after finishing my own day's play and some Bangladeshi players looked really fat/out of shape and horrible in the field. I saw a guy named Yasir Ali and he was not even able to run properly because of extra weight. That looks really disappointing being an International cricketer. As a West Indian, I was proud for mehidy to score his debut 100 in that first innings. It is an innings to make any cricketer proud. I was undermining the West Indies for giving up so much runs in the first innings and not being able to supplement it with the bat in the second. I was shocked when the debutants bonner and Mayer’s showed such resilience and character after coming in 59-3. Kudos to Joshua da Silva for effectively rotating the strike as well. The character showed by these young guns was amazing and the future of WI cricket is in good hands. Good play to Bangladesh for continuously fighting and I look forward to the second match

The most shocking aspect of the players who achieved this historic feat apart from Faf Du Plessis who scored 110 vs Australia 2012 is that all of them were 1 hit wonders who failed extremely miserably in their careers the likes of Mohammad Wasim 109 vs New Zealand 1996, Franklyn Hayes 106 vs West Indies 1973, Leonard Baichan 105 vs Pakistan 1975, Dwayne Smith 105 vs South Africa 2004, Yasir Hameed 105 vs Bangladesh 2003 and Abbas Ali Baig. Leonard Baichan, Dwayne Smith & Franklyn Hayes never scored a 50 apart from this innings, Abbas Ali Baig never scored 100 again, Yasir Hameed never scored 100 again after he scored century in both innings on debut and even Mohammad Wasim's only other century was against Zimbabwe he never scored a century vs major team again. All the 6 players are amongst the greatest one match wonders in history making the feat an extremely unlucky cursed stat. Even among players who scored more than 68 in 4th Innings on debut only Andrew Strauss 83 vs New Zealand 2004, Clive Lloyd 78 vs India 1966, Cheteshwar Pujara 72 vs Australia 2010 and Norman O Neill 71 vs England 1958 became legends for their country. Rest all the 20 players failed miserably (including Southee with the bat).

Well played Kyle Mayers. I really enjoyed this phenomenal innings. This innings will be remembered as a note of inspirations for all the young cricketers around the world. I'm really shocked and surprised at the collapse of Bangladesh in the 2nd innings. They could have extended the lead much more. And time for a change in captaincy. Mominul is a good friend of mine, but, TBH, Shakib should be handed over the captaincy. I'm a well wisher of Bangladesh cricket since Bangladesh is a country close to my heart. They are our neighbors. And one thing to note also, many Bangladeshi players looked out of shape in the field. I saw the game highlights after finishing my own day's play and some Bangladeshi players looked really fat/out of shape and horrible in the field. I saw a guy named Yasir Ali and he was not even able to run properly because of extra weight. That looks really disappointing being an International cricketer. And playing with only one pacer is also not logical.
Best of luck for the 2nd Test.

As a West Indian, I was proud for mehidy to score his debut 100 in that first innings. It is an innings to make any cricketer proud. I was undermining the West Indies for giving up so much runs in the first innings and not being able to supplement it with the bat in the second. I was shocked when the debutants bonner and Mayer’s showed such resilience and character after coming in 59-3. Kudos to Joshua da Silva for effectively rotating the strike as well. The character showed by these young guns was amazing and the future of WI cricket is in good hands. Good play to Bangladesh for continuously fighting and I look forward to the second match

In history only 8 players have scored more than 160 in successful 4th Innings run chase which they won the match. In history only 8 players have scored 87 in 4th innings on Test debut. Only 8 players in history have scored 75 in a successful 4th innings run chase and only a mere 20 players have scored even 47 runs where they won the match.
The all time record in Test Cricket before Mayers was Abbas Ali Baig 112 vs England 1959 it was so extremely difficult to beat Baig's record that nobody could beat him in a massive 134 years and yet Mayers almost doubled the all time record, had he equaled George Headley's all time highest 4th Innings record of 223 by scoring another 13 runs he would have scored more than the top 2 scores ever made by Test debutants in 4th innings in history (Abbas 112 & Plessis 110).
The most shocking aspect of the players who achieved this historic feat apart from Faf Du Plessis who scored 110 vs Australia 2012 is that all of them were 1 hit wonders who failed extremely miserably in their careers the likes of Mohammad Wasim 109 vs New Zealand 1996, Franklyn Hayes 106 vs West Indies 1973, Leonard Baichan 105 vs Pakistan 1975, Dwayne Smith 105 vs South Africa 2004, Yasir Hameed 105 vs Bangladesh 2003 and Abbas Ali Baig. Leonard Baichan, Dwayne Smith & Franklyn Hayes never scored a 50 apart from this innings, Abbas Ali Baig never scored 100 again, Yasir Hameed never scored 100 again after he scored century in both innings on debut and even Mohammad Wasim's only other century was against Zimbabwe he never scored a century vs major team again. All the 6 players are amongst the greatest one match wonders in history making the feat an extremely unlucky cursed stat. Even among players who scored more than 68 in 4th Innings on debut only Andrew Strauss 83 vs New Zealand 2004, Clive Lloyd 78 vs India 1966, Cheteshwar Pujara 72 vs Australia 2010 and Norman O Neill 71 vs England 1958 became legends for their country. Rest all the 20 players failed miserably (including Southee with the bat).
