After the many times Biden has stated that he's not dropping out, it continues. I propose that the president should give them their desire. Biden should resign with immediate effect, and the VP Harris would automatically become President. As such, Harris leads the ticket for reelection and the party choses the new VP, at the convention.

Everything is messy and complicated. There’s no easy answer to this one. Harris is the most compelling choice for several reasons, not the least of which is Allan Lichtman’s 13 keys model that has successfully predicted the winners of the last 10 elections (9 if you accept the Bush/Gore outcome in 2000). It’s critical we avoid an open convention.
I don't think Harris counts to those keys because she would be running for her first term if Biden dropped out not reelection

I haven't seen any polls that ask registered democrats whether they still want Biden on the ticket. My guess is that a significant majority will say yes. I'm sure Biden is the only Democrat that swing state independents who consider themselves to be moderates will support.
