The best plastic surgeons know when to say no. The ones who will just do anything their patient wants, without hesitation, just bc there's $$$ involved are unethical.
@@jena.alexiayes because they have an oath. And that oath involves fixing the body and not destroying it. What this guy requests is mutiliation and scarring which if they do would violate that oath. Here in our country you could get your license revoked as a surgeon doing this.

I've wondered that too. Does American health insurance cover plastic surgery, even when it's only cosmetic? Maybe they take out loans or dip into their 401k?
I think a lot of them get procedures in other countries where it's much cheaper (but also much more risky)
@@jena.alexiaUm, yeah, noooo. Most American health insurance doesn't fully cover _medically necessary_ procedures. Much less cosmetic. No there is _no insurance coverage for purely cosmetic reasons._ I'm not sure what country would provide that, but definitely not the US. This episode was pure 🧢

You mean the body modification? Its actually a process. He looks like hes been doing it at least 10+ years. You just add more and more tattoos. Some ppl actually do black out tattoos to where they cover a whole area back. Ive seen ppl get their whole body done like that.

Why is this self harm? He isn't doing this because he hates himself, he's doing it because he loves himself and has an idea of who/what he wants to be as a person. It's no different than simply piercing your ears, or getting a nose job. They all technically cause "injury", but it doesn't mean people are doing it BECAUSE they want to be injured or harmed. He seems like a pretty well rounded and responsible adult. Just because you don't understand or have the desire to live like this, doesn't mean it's harmful in his eyes.

yeah it looks like he has vitiligo or something. Aside from the eyes I feel like people probably don't react thinking it's a skin issue. Even the scars on the face just make him look like he got in some accident or something. it's not severe or interesting looking. It's a waste of money and pain :/

I've seen a patient that had implants in her eye's to alter the colour: Well that happened, but it also damaged her vision irreversibly & gave her Glaucoma. Not very smart in my opinion. ( Retired R.N.)

I get the tattoos and piercings, but not the eye tattoo, that's just stupidly dangerous and 100% irreversible. Also I couldn't ever get through scarification, looks like it just hurts way too much.

That's not how tattoos work. Light tattoos on dark skin means there will always be a brown layer over the light colors. White, yellow, pink under a brown color won't show. But if you use red, dark green, and orange it will show better. Always imagine how it will look with a brown tone over the color. It's easier for tattoos artists to use black and grey because black will always show past the brown. The trick is to always use your skin to create the scale of tones. Your skin should be left alone to create the lightest parts of the tattoo. Artists mess up by adding too much black shading in the tattoo instead of leaving that space alone and having your skin represent the "white/light" colors of the tat.

I grew up in and out of tattoo shops with my parents, so it was a given I’d end up growing fond of body mods.
My tongue split was also something I’d always wanted done, and my conch removal was a birthday gift to myself 😂 (nearly went deaf because of it though)

However if a friend or loved one wanted to get anything like eye tattoos/injections done I'd do all in my power to convince them not to do it. the biggest issue with eye tattoos is if you ever do have a problem with your eyes later in life an ophthalmologist or optometrist won’t be able to properly assess your eyes anymore

he should go to africa but earn it. it would be more meaningful to earn your tattoos from the origins of where this practice comes from. thats the thing about tattoos . they were originally for warriors and tribes people
